Great review - the 2008 must be the most handsome car on the road and full marks to Peugeot for not making the electric version look bland. The range seems to get more handsome as you go lower down. Maybe if the do a 1008 I might be able to afford one!

Interesting to see a direct comparison between the EV and petrol engine versions.

Mark, that was a brilliant review and comparison. Excellent and food for thought. What i think is Peugeot are at the forefront of 'real' EV cars. Design, tech even price. As you say there is little difference between the 'standard' petrol 1.2 litre and the EV. Surely instead of all those 'pig ugly', designed for some bad si-fi films, Teslas [crap!] Audi and VW iD's infant-like, efforts then making an EV, as Peugeot do, with this and probably the best EV currently available in the neat, compact 208 hatch. Don't forget the Corsa e too. Lets face it to come anywhere near affordability for the average family, it has to be this way, After all take a look at the 'smug', middle class profile of the average middle-lane hogging, Model 3 driver and it is obvious the brands have to produce this type of model for widespread acceptance. Thanks again. Great real review as always.

hi Keith - yes they have some decent EVs on sale, particularly where price and faster charging are concerned.

I like the way you colour coordinated your shoes with the cars 🤣 great review, good idea to compare the 2 versions of the same car

I'm looking forward to driving it over to my parents in Ireland as well. Not sure Tullamore is blessed with charging but we'll see

Liking e2008 great looking out fit.

Great review as ever tho' one thing I will say is there is a third option.... want torque but don't want a 3 cylinder petrol nor EV? Check! Then there's also a diesel! Yes I did mention it and will probably be struck down with furious lightning and anger by many on here for mentioning it but why would you send 32 grand on such a thing? It's a nice car granted but I could think of 100 cars that aren't that price that aren't even diesel engine that you could spend less than half that money on and still have the chnge to tax and insure it.

Love that bronze colour, havent seen one on road in it yet and considering that's the only standard colour cant understand why

Great review! I actually own the exact same petrol model you tested and I take delivery of the EV next week and I can’t wait! The petrol has been a great over the last 12k miles but Peugeot offered me such a good deal that it’s worked out less per month for the EV! All in I’m very happy with the 2008, best car I’ve ever owned…quick note though, you mentioned the side skirts being Jean friendly…the bottoms of the door are terrible for catching clothes as they seem to tuck under the car almost

Hot and cold! range is around 200 when it’s warm maybe 150 cold. It’s been a pain at times finding chargers if you’ve got to go anywhere out of town though. The biggest positive now is that diesel is nearly £2! So saving a fortune on commute. If petrol was still cheap ish I’d have rather had that, but with how things are now it’s right choice.

Great review..!!...and impressive looking cars....For me the deal breaker is the EV's lack of range. I would buy this if the range was in the 400km ball park but 250km ? No way.

The faster charging option does help with the smaller range but 400kms does sound better on paper to a lot of people

@@NobbyOnCars A 250 mile real world range ought to be the absolute minimum manufacturers offer people these days. Buy anything with less and it's almost obsolete tech straight away.

How much did u say e2008 was?

If you’re wearing white jeans, you better be driving a DeLorean so you can go back to the 80’s

The car looks great. But it’s not designed as an EV and it shows, especially interior rear space. There are better ground up EVs on the market for a similar price. The 2008 as an Ice matches competitors on the market and probably will hold on to more of its comparative value after three years.

I personally don't see the need for an electric car to be specifically built for electric from the ground up. There's also plenty room in the rear , it's a small SUV not a range rover
