I didn't notice that when I first saw it when it first came out but watching it again now you notice it. I guess it was too difficult to get a RHD version for the filming to add a essence of believability.

@@cbcine They used a real 206 (presumably from France) to make the "finished" car. It is a LHD car, you can see the dashboard bulge on the right side of the windscreen looking at the car from the front. Odd as this was filmed well after the release of the 206 in the UK and other RHD places, so wouldn't have been a difficult thing to aquire.

It is also shown that the guy has done some welding too. Just because he is not a Westerner, you should not automatically imply that he could not perform more technically challenging modifications -- doing so would be just plain ignorant! Still, I find this advert funny!

It's rare to see those. Many officers use modern cars which are more comfortable like Ciaz, Innova, Fortuner or Scorpios

0:04 that is some great foreshadowing, Peugeot bought the rights to the HM Ambassador in 2017, nearly 10 years after this commercial.

One of the best adverts I've ever seen. Still remember it after all those years.

Just heard the music in this video on the radio and remembered this commercial. Best one from Peugeot ever! Back when commercials were actually entertaining

I remember seeing this ad when i was younger and now i actually have a second hand 206... so happy that i can be like those guys all the time now :D

I agree...I visited India in 2001 when i was 15 and have dreamed of going back. I have a huge list of favorite commercials but this is the best. I think most would think so too if they've taken a trip to India before, one of the most beautiful places on earth; the land, the people, and the culture.

oh my god this ad was absolutely UNEARTHED back from the most remote depths of my memory. Never in a thousand years I would have remembered about this, and I still didn't until the very last clip with that song.

When I first watched this ad, it was at the movie theater. Needless to say, everybody loled.

The strength and endurance of HM Ambassador is way higher than any of the Peugeot models. It's good for both of them to work together in India now.

You're clearly ignorant. You don't know the history of Peugeot. Ever heard of the Peugeot 504 and 404 from the 1970s? Some are still being used in Africa and being driven for over a million kilometres going places that a Range Rover wouldn't dare to go

I remember this ad!, in Argentina it was broadcasted during the half time of FIFA Confederations Cup in 2005! I loved it at that time!

The only way to have a reliable and well made car in the shape of a Peugeot!

+Kieran Curtis Sorry to bust your bubble but the 206 has been one of the most reliable city-cars and tops the 2nd hand markets around Europe. Including Germany's. Mentioning the Audi A3, I can hardly find 2nd hand ones of the period 2000 - 2010 in the market, any market even if you could see the car being sold new and circulating. What happened? Did they send them to Africa or something? Orrrr.... was the A3 so crappy that most of then ended in the car junkyards? Next time get information before you comment.

Panos A lol my 206's head gasket and radiator survived driving on my ice track with the engine temperature over 110°, only thing i had to repair was an hose to radiator from coolant tank
