From Labarge Wyoming... We got lots of foxes and coyotes... I haven't seen any wolves. I think they keep most of those kind of pinned up around the Yellowstone area of Wyoming... a lot of the ranchers around here have great Pyrenees that live with the sheep and have all the coyotes and foxes for lunch.. They look like a dried bloody mess .. They say they never have to buy them any food.. They've been trained to attack and eat any animal that comes near the sheep..

@@michelelaraia7358 actually, thats good for the ecosystem. So many bird species went extinct just because of cats. It means that all these unnecessary suburban cats at least have to be more careful while hunting (and thus hopefully less successful). I say this as someone who supports e.g. having barn cats to reduce the use of chemicals in pest control on farms, and who only had positive interactions with cats personally. But the ecosystem thing is really a huge one.

I think one of the things I miss most about back home. I used to ride out into the country about 10 miles on my bicycle to my dads grave, at about 1AM to 2 AM ish. I would usually take a small lantern, sit next to his grave, and paint with acrylic paint. One of the cool, yet spooky parts about it was listening to the coyotes howling up a storm! Man they would go nuts out there. It was also scary because I was unarmed and knew that if we ran into each other, a bunch of hungry coyotes vs a human, on their turf, is going to be a really bad time for the human!

So where I live we have coyote absolutely everywhere. I've run across them up very close...and yeah. I wouldn't recommend petting em, but the couple times I was very close, they behaved like high strung doggos. I never tried petting em, but I bet I could have. Just sharing this to they are good boys also usually, but unless your uses to being around and dealing with wildlife, you may get a nip. (They nip anyways) but it could get a finger. I doubt they'd ever outright attack
