I remember watching mat Pat's theory and could not finish the video because I was too scared

Theories I have so far: 1) care was depressed, was forced to take anti depressants, and those anti depressants kept her from feeling anything at all. This caused her to realize that the people medicating her didn't actually care about her mental state and just want her to be a functioning member of society. She realizes they don't actually love her. "A" stands for "After." Absolutely emotionless and deadpan. "B" stands for "Before." Clearly doesn't take care of herself and hates herself, but is trying to hide it. "NLM" stands for "Nobody Loves Me." Got so depressed from realizing nobody loved her and tried to hang herself. I thought of this because when you see the Care NLM Sprite in-game, you see what looks like a rope coming from her neck. 2) Petscop was made by a child genius named Tiara, who has hyperthymesia, hence why she remembers being born. The game is just her lamenting about all the traumatic, depressing experiences she can't forget, like the deaths of loved ones. This is why the game starts off in a daycare (her early childhood) but then quickly turns into a distorted hell where the first thing you learn about is the death of a kid named Mike. 3) Mike was abused and killed himself. I don't have any evidence for this, aside from the line about Marvin picking up the "tool" and hurting mile, but it's fun to think about, at least.

Quitter,the female version of Paul but only has a black and white kind of child drawn face for a face that never turns no matter which way it walks. Also in Quitters Room we see her for the first time in the mirror as some kind of reflection.

@@glados8699 According to theories, the game was used to simulate a family tragedy involving the Newmaker Family, and possibly recreate it in order to solve the mystery. The theme of Child Abuse is used to point out that supposedly, a man who obsessed with reincarnation believed his own daughter is the incarnation of a woman he made "Disappear", and he abducted her in an attempt to turn her into that woman. Course the girl was rescued, but it's unclear what exactly transpired: Hence the game

A horror game? Yes, you'd think of gore, knives and jumpscares. What makes this game terrifying is the music, the capture noise effect. I don't think I'm going to sleep again.

For those who don't know there are now 25 chapters so if you're wanting to spend an evening watching this eerie series develop it's all there for your viewing pleasure.

I dont know if you know this but there are acually 24 episodes of petscop i think it would be pretty cool if you would investigate these.😃 btw i love your channel

When I saw the character that the player controls, it looked like an upside-down piece of toast with sesame seed eyes, hovering over a small barrel with human feet.

The “Quitters Room” is a reference to Candace Newmaker who was killed (suffocated) in a session of rebirthing in april 2000, her life support was cut off April 18th 2000. The grassy area is also called Newmaker Plane which is another reference to her. Candace Newmaker 29th November 1989 - April 18th 2000 Age: 10

I honestly think that Rainer was the one in the back of the room around 20:30 . Wouldn't it make sense? What if Rainer had just left that message, and then disappeared into the shadows - a reference to Marvin and perhaps the connection between Marvin and Rainer? Rainer and Paul also seem to be related if we're going by other theories, so it would make sense they look really similar.

I just noticed something. Look at Care NML from 5:19-5:22. There's something connecting the sprite to the top of the screen. I think that might be a rope.

Some people are mixing up Care and Tiara. Tiara is the girl in the Quitter's room. Tiara was based on a real girl of the same name, who died during a procedure know as "rebirthing" where she died from suffocation under a thick pile of blankets and pillows while her parents and the doctor doing the procedure called her a quitter and such. I dont know who care is based on but based on the dialogue of the game, it seems that she was adopted by a family in which she was abused. She went missing, until she escaped the basement of her school and wandering the newmaker plane, crying about how nobody would love her, not ever again. Based on that I've determined she was kidnapped and brought there, being abused in multiple ways. I think Marvin was the culprit because he hops in through the window of the house and takes Care in one of the bits of footage.

Also doing the math, that is constant running for roughly 17.5 years. The video was uploaded Christmas 2017, and 17.5 years ago would roughly be July, 2000. That doesn't mean that Paul has been playing the entire time. In fact, if Paul was born summer 2000 and is around 17 it could be a reference to his life being a way of "playing the game" or, if he is older, an event that happened then involving him has effected him since then. OR, it means the game itself has been RUNNING the entire time. That is not possible with any console, even left idle, to run constantly that long, let alone be played. The game also was not in Paul's possession that long ago. If this theory is the case, then the game seems to be existing in a constant state of play despite whether there is an active player running it on a console. This also could suggest some sentience to the world inside the game. *cue eerie theremin music*

Basically the antagonist of the story killed the person he was in love with for whatever reason (psychotic reaction to rejected advances possibly), marries their sister, and then goes about brain-washing children in an attempt to ‘rebirth’ their murdered crush. All captured, recreated, and revealed in a fake, pokemon-esque let’s play. A lot to unpack here.

I think its just a modded game reversed by a programmer whos suffered by ungrateful events like a loss of a child and breakups so he made this game sort of like a hommage because maybe this is his son's favorite game as seen on the tombstone and causes her wife to grief and eventually left him and the windmill signifies something like an event.

I was waiting the entire time for Mike to come to the conclusion the game is telling the story of the, what I like to call, the 2000 Newmaker incident. Don’t ask me, watch more game theory But then I realized this is just a summary 😂
