Petra was such a nice, approachable and strong guest. Who knew the musical talents behind her climbing?

Agreeeeeeee! Such a cool analogy :)
The part where Petra explained that she also thinks in terms of sound, and how her feet taps sound was really unique and cool. Thank's for sharing your session.

Do you think autism is linked to it?😊
The pure joy on your face when you reach the top of a boulder you thought you were not gonna send 🥰
The rhythm Petra was talking about totally makes sense, I have a background in dance choreography and I often find that dance is a great foundation for climbing, not just flexibility but you already feel very aware of how your body is moving

A friend of mine who is an ex ballet dancer became a 7b climber in less than a year. At 33 years old. He is obviously flexible but also has more body consciousness.
Petra's static climbing is awesome to watch. The ultimate control through power climbing. So strong.

I‘ve seen Petra climb in Zurich (Dübendorf) a few times and it‘s incredibly impressive! Last time they were doing a video for an ad and my friend and I just basically stopped climbing to watch her - felt a bit like stalking 😂, but it‘s amazing how she moves!

that video was amazing. 1. you looked very strong, on the blue boulder at the beginning you went all in and pulled out some very technical and risky move to make the climb. 2. interesting about Petra mentioning that she is using music to help her complete some coordination movement. never heard or could have tought about something like that. 3. that gym looks so nice ! it got a traverse from 1st floor to second floor, and amazing spray wall, a comp style section. i would be so hyped up to climb in one of these gym.

I think she was describing a recorder as the flute she was talking about. In German it's just called a flute and the flute you'd think of in English is a "horizontal flute"
Really enjoy how you overlay the audio with footage! Makes the whole video flow really well
I think Petra's arms are bigger than my legs. What an absolute beast!
I like that Petra still acknowledges when she’s given a good attempt at something that even if she didn’t catch the hold. Very important to be encouraging to ourselves as we try hard things :)
Great video and great climbing, Hannah. The musical way of thinking of moves was very interesting.

I too thought the music analogy was really interesting. Although very different analogy, Johnny Dawes describing the tension of chopping an onion being like placing hand or feet on a hold or climbing being a like a wrestling match or a dance. Its what makes climbing so beautiful in that it is so individual how your body will feel when climbing. Learning the body and discovering yourself is what climbing should be all about

Thank you so much for this video, Hannah! As someone who’s very new to climbing, I found it full of helpful advice. Doubly so, because Elys (such a beautiful gym!) is precisely the place where I’ve been collecting my very first climbing experiences over the past few weeks! So to see you and Petra doing the same boulders I could actually practice on is really cool (well, in theory - the boulders you picked still look very intimidating to me 😅) Also, the way you sent that black boulder was AMAZING and very inspiring. Well done 👏🏻

LOVE the Souped Up and really like the Flagships. For indoor volume jumping and smearing the Souped Up are honestly the best I’ve tried for me in a while - they are a little thin (I went through them fairly quickly) but performance wise I really like them. 😎
