In this video, we take you on a tour of the beautiful Petit Palais.
The Petit Palais is a French Art Gallery and Museum in Paris, France. It was built to be the new residence of the Musee des Arts Decoratifs. The building was completed in 1864 and houses an art collection that includes works by Pablo Picasso, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Auguste Rodin, Edgar Degas and Paul Gauguin.
When you visit the Petit Palais in Paris, you can’t help but be impressed by its grandeur. The original art museum was built in 1900, and has been home to many famous artists throughout the years.
Apart from Petit Palais, there are five major museums located in Paris.
The Louvre, the Musée d'Orsay, The Musee du Quai Branly, and Le Musée de l'Orangerie are all modern museums. They’re located near the Seine River on the Right Bank of Paris.
The Musee de la Ville de Paris and Le Petit Palais are both situated on the Left Bank of Paris. These two museums also sit along the Seine River but they’re much smaller than other museums found in central Paris.
The Musee d'Art et d'Histoire is a small museum that can be found inside a former monastery just south of La Defense business district in eastern Paris. It’s one of those hidden gems you can only find if you know where to look for it!
