PETERBILT 379 FULLY LOADED BARRELLING DOWN THE FIRE ACCESS ROAD

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Hey guys! So one of the places I load out of is 9km down a twisty and hilly fire access road. Once a year they shut this down and actually host rally racing! I think they can move a little quicker than I can down this road...
I uploaded another video driving this road going the other way while empty. This time I'm coming out fully loaded. Enjoy the sights and sounds!

We usually park right at the end on your left just before you hit the highway. Where was the load going to ? Thanks again for the great videos.

Yesterday was my first time driving a tractor trailer and I gotta say, you make shifting look so easy. I was fucking up the downshifting so bad, at the time I was driving in a empty area with long stretches of road. Then my instructor wanted me to drive through the city to the truck stop to fill up the tanks and when we were done and I was pulling out of the truck stop I got honked at by the truck behind me because I was releasing the clutch really slowly so the whole truck wouldnt shake and I guess I was taking too long. Please give me strength I have about 60 more hours of training left before road test 😭😭😭😭

everyone starts out like that when they are first learning. The more you do it the better you will get. I start driving school in september and believe me im nervous too. I'm going to be learning on a 18 speed but only have 1 month to learn everything and pass my test in october, so im just stressing thinking about it. But my dad is trucker and he just keeps reassuring me that if I pay attention and listen to my instructor and fully apply myself I should have no problem. Anyways gl to you my man, you'll pass no problem, i believe.

Yep everyone starts out like that. My first trip out bobtailing, I made a left turn, and for the life of me I couldn’t figure out what gear to shove it into. I ended up pulling over waiting for the lineup of traffic to pass and start all over again. Instructor wasn’t too happy but it doesn’t take long once you get it!!

@@callthemall been there; one of the hardest things I found when first learning was remembering what gear I was in, so I knew where to shift next...........that, and downshifting (even though I had driven a stick lots before that, doing it in a semi is a whole other ballgame), and occasionally forgetting the range selector coming from 5th down to 4th.

00:47am from the other room... Daddy, daddy I can't sleep... Dad: Yeah, I might turn down my HEADPHONES a bit. 00:49am... Daddy, I'm afraid of bears. Dad : No worries, junior, that's not a bear - just blame Jacobs for inventing the jake brake. 00:53am... what's that whistle, dad ? Dad : sssssh, ever heard of Caterpillar engines ? Son : Yo, you dream about them while walking, Dad. All the day. Dad : mmmm see this is 650 horses, turbo glowing red. Callthemall is pulling 63500 kg up the hill. 5 seconds silence... Hey man, where are you based out of in Ontario? I'm also from Ontario and trucking is currently a backup plan for myself right now if my current trade doesn't work out for me or I don't enjoy it as I have always loved driving/trucking. I watched your video that you were talking about starting your own trucking company in the future a couple years down the road and that would probably be around the time I will probably have made up my mind what route I'm going to take. If you see this I just thought it wouldn't hurt to know if you're near where I am or not and maybe have a contact about getting into the business down the road. Cheers!

I have a webasto bunk heater in the winter, and a little truck stop fan in the summer, though I don’t sleep in the truck much anymore. If it’s a really hot night and I need a/c I’ll run the truck for a few minutes and that brings the cab down and I’m usually good for the night with just that

Fire access/logging roads are easy to get out of - all the forks in the road merge to the out road, so just follow the road out! Haha. Learning to shift was easier because I’ve always driven stick. The clutch took a lot to get right though. Takes many hours of messing around to get it right
