Had my Dad known the 359's were to be discontinued in 1987. He would have waited instead of Custom Ordering 75 359's in 1986. But he assured me and my Brothers that the 5 1976 Peterbilt Patriots tha he owns will make up for it. 38 of the 75 '86's are still running. And i still have 4 of the '76 Patriots.

What a GREAT collection of pictures of the iconic "Nickel 9's " grand dad of the long hood's and 36 years later still best looking trucks on road ....

The Peterbilt 351 had long hood and standard versions in the mid 60's prior to the 359. The 359 was actually in production since 1967 and continued to 1987... been around for about 56 years. Awesome trucks for sure.

Sure tell that west coast equipment. Remember seeing lots of these running meat out of Ne. To west coast every week for little Audrey in the prime. Them blue and white Pete's lined up was Vermillion Bros feom Keokuk IA. Good times. Long gone.

The good old days. No apu, no microwave, no frig. Thats when trucking was an adventure.

The 359 was the best Peterbilt truck ever made.

These are old beasts REAL TRUCKS REAL MEN They wore jeans and cowboy boots and tilted their heel back on those pedals. 💪🏼💪🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼letting the coal roll shifting gears. The Peterbilt 359 will always be one of the most beautiful trucks. Same with a 900A model Kenworth! I have a 1979 with a V8 CAT under the hood and twin sticks. I DRIVE THAT TRUCK IN JEANS AND BOOTS

Love the Mercury custom built sleepers.

Great blast from the past. I bought a new 359 in 1982 and again in 1986. I don't miss the first one, with the 8V-92, but the second one, well that's different. 275 wheelbase, long hood, Cat B model, and the 63 inch flat top. Wish I had that truck now. Lots of nice West Coast trucks here as well, like the Frampton trucks, etc. Well done.

David Ham , only problem with 8V-92, Did not come with an Oil Well.

Yeah David I bought a 79 K100 brand new with the 8V92 435 with a 15 SPD 4:11 and 11.24.5 tall It totally sucked going up hill in the flats it ran real good The only place it ran good going up hill was I 80 East bound going up on the Laramie saddle
