Peter Wesley Bastone - Shake Your Head

A Poem By Peter Wesley bastone
Shake Your Head
Written by Peter Wesley Bastone
Feeling old, days go flying by.
Can’t go back, I type away hi
Hair is gray as my teeth fall away
Twisted and wound up.
Hospital gown, mooned five nurses
A real life story, watch out for curses
Walk away with a real cane, real pain
Hobble back homestead
The yellow brick road, getting kinda dirty
I knew that girl, a kind of flirty
I waved goodbye as the taxi pulled away
Turned around and went inside
Shake your head
It’s just another day
Shake your head
Being part of this animal thing
