Peter Wesley Bastone - Shades Of Man

A Poem By Peter Wesley Bastone
Shades Of Man
Written by Peter Wesley Bastone
Still finding words of understanding
As the fight to fight the aging ways
Better left said, then fade to death
Mind working overtime, there is no sleep
As some hang on to hate and greed
I laugh at their degree of sleaze
When love is just a handshake away
The grinding of the gears will keep us salty
My mental choices becoming few
As I look forward to closing shop
I value the love that surrounds me
Days seem short, even in history
And that hand is whiter than my hand
And that hand is blacker than your hand
And what does it matter in a breath
As the shades of man shine bright
