I was at Salford in 96 on the media production course and had the privilege of filming Peter as he hosted a student fashion show. It was clear that he had no fear of an audience and that was what made him so admired by his contemporaries. He simply stood on the stage and made us laugh. No script, just brilliance.

@flyer1658
2 жыл бұрын
@Michelle Louise Davis have you even read the post you just made?! The spelling and grammar is almost non sensical. All I can gather from what you have written is you are clearly a very bitter and jealous person. Rather than respecting someone who fills theatres with tens of millions of people in his career you have to say hes not funny. When people respect that he has the talent to make millions of pounds through his immense talent you have to talk about poverty. I would have as much respect for someone with no money or talent as it is individual choice what different people gave respect for. However unlike you I dont need to be bitter and twisted and I respect all and I'm sure if you had enough talent at something to be offered multiple honorary doctorates you certainly would not take your sad opinion that they are fake! How about respect those that earn the through academia and those that earn them for there talent?!

@flyer1658
2 жыл бұрын
@Michelle Louise Davis non sensical means it doesnt make sense. Nobody at any point said poverty is a choice so have no idea what you are talking about. On your third point, it is possible that someone makes a contribution to society in other ways than academia. Yes someone very clever academically deserves reward but also someone who entertains millions of people and makes millions for charities also deserves recognition. So why say some people are more deserving than others. Why start playing the poverty v rich game. Its pathetic. Just accept someone on the street with no money deserves recognition and appreciation but also someone who builds a business making millions also deserves recognition for all the jobs they create and achievements they have. Or someone who is famous through his or her talent and uses that to raise huge amounts of money for charity. You are a jealous bitter person who obviously begrudge others success and have to go on about poverty. Maybe be accepting that everyone offers something and it might be different to you but thankfully most people dont have your attitude.

I know your comment is old, but when you're applying for Uni, the wise thing to do is to apply to a selection of schools. Not just one. One school alone gets loads of applications and there isn't always room to take everyone. It's like only applying for one job and hoping you get it. Doesn't work that way; you have to apply to multiple. If you have your heart set on Salford, then just keep applying while you go to school elsewhere, because at times it takes 2 or 3 applications to get in. Don't just give up after one refusal; you won't get far in life with that attitude. Buck up and keep trying. Cheers.
