The transcendent Peter Allen Green. Gone were the long locks Peter Green wore in early '70 with Fleetwood Mac resembling Jesus Christ! This is a very nice "Mono" mix of "Heavy Heart". I lobbied "Warner Brothers" to re-release the "End Of The Game" album with the two singles, "Heavy Heart/No Way Out & "Beasts Of Burden/Uganda Woman as bonus tracks and was staggered when this became a reality! "Esoteric Recordings" did exactly that, and re-released 1970 album with the two singles from 1971 & 1972 as bonus tracks! Frustratingly, Esoteric Recordings released the "Stereo" version of "Heavy Heart" which contains a lot annoying distortion at 1:12 ~ the ending of the song. Overall, I am so very pleased! I revere the extremely gifted Peter Green for being a man of honesty, humanity and humility. This instrumental has a very pastoral sound to it. It just takes me away to Nature. R.I.P. PETER ALLEN GREEN

I've also just found this despite being a great Peter Green fan and think it's great. I've seen him twice in the Splinter Group and it was sad to see the toll that his mental health problems had taken on him. I would like to thank him for the great music he has provided for us.

Its sad that Peter couldn't handle his demons because you can feel the depth and sublime beauty he is tapping into here...he just couldn't stay in this world to develope it into it's full expression / manifestation...love him and grateful for his music....

I don’t know what all the fuss is about this in itself is a masterpiece. Petes playing here is channeled through him and the guitar. Probably the same sort of playing that happened in the ‘Munich Incident’. Green was fed up of commercialism and was well aware of the bullshit that came with it. He still has that feel in this video, remarkable guitar player.

Post Munich, "The End of the Game," and at the Bath Festival in June 1971, his playing was distinguished by acid drenched wah-wah effects. (The one off concert with Mayall is on KZread, too.)

This intriguing and atmospheric piece shows that Peter had moved on from the acid drenched wah wah jams of the previous year (with Mayall live at the Bath Festival, and his own solo album, "End of the Game") and gives a tantalising glimpse of a direction his music never fully explored.

I read where Green said he was becoming concerned about FM becoming rich vs their role of making music. He was watching a TV show about starving people while tripping and passed his sandwich to a woman through the screen successfully, and said it had a lasting effect. I doubt it was one episode but several band members did say he was changed after the commune.

@MrMeddled The effect is obtained by using a wah-wah pedal and keeping the pedal all the way up, so there's no more treble left in the guitar's sound. BTW: that's probably the Fender Stratocaster that Peter played when I first saw him in 1968, he didn't play his famous Les Paul that night................ Peter also told on TV he used his Strat (this one?) to record most of "Albatross".

Well, well, always some dis agreement about a great talent's reclusiveness. He did spend time in a mental hospital twice, the 1st time they gave him electric shook treatments. He got the acid at a party slipped to him by some Germans. I speak from experience, I've been dosed in Berlin and it can be very intense experience. Peters' mind had already become off key, he didn't like the commercialism of his music(he recently received an award in England) which is all he wanted to be known for.

Like everwhere else, it takes all kinds to make up a a nation. My brother in law was German, and he seemed your epitomy of German. But get to know him, and he was soft and nice. When my sister broke uip with him, he went to pieces. (They got back together by the way, and were stronger than ever) he died of cancer, and I have never seen a braver man, the way he faced it.

The comment in this video about his pickup being faulty on his 1959 Les Paul is wrong. It wasn't faulty, a technician accidently installed the magnet backwards and THAT was what gave the guitar its tasty tone. Don't get it twisted.

dude, back then when acid was legal to make and was properly made by trained pharmacists and chemists -- I would one hundred percent agree with you. But its illegal now, so the quality is not controlled. many old trippers have said today's acid is NOTHING compared to the properly made stuff from the 60s. instead of "pot and whiskey" though, perhaps just an organic (shrooms?) alternative would be better
