I love listening to Frampton. Reminds me of when it first came out on FM radio. Thanks for sharing.
Got to see him perform this in 1976. Being old has it's perks. We got to live the best decade of music EVER. Frampton was gorgeous then and is gorgeous now. His music just brings great memories.
He's a great man and player and 'Frampton Comes Alive' is an absolute timeless classic which still stands up today...
what a great fun channel this is... thanks so much ..

WHAT AN IDIOT.. I really would like people to FIND out what UNDERRATED means. FRAMPTON was a god time legend already when FCA was released. Just because your circles did not include FRAMPTON.. it doesnt mean FRAPTON was ignored BY ANYONE. Either your CIRCLES were or you were a DOLT. Here princes... do you think this is underrated. kzread.info/dash/bejne/l42FkrqdYNHfkrQ.html
I been hearing Pete's songs ever since i was a kid, i always get a sting of nostalgia and almost a tear. He is loved and held in high regard here in australia. A true legend.
I love love love this series where great songs are being dissected, so damn interesting!!!! 🤘
Peter Frampton Comes Alive is one of these albums you can listen and listen over and over again. Does not get old.
I saw him in concert 7 yrs ago, so impressed with his musical ability. His guitar playing shines!!
Of course most people will remember the song for the talk box but it is a really well constructed song and performed so marvellously. The rhythm section really propels the song, the drums are prominent and I find myself humming along to the bass line when the talk box isn’t playing. Absolutely fabulous.
I finally understand “Peter’s Sound” - thanks for the explanation. Frampton Comes Alive is one of my favorite albums of all time.
"Talk Box Book For Dummies".....Priceless Frampton Humor!! I recently "stumbled" onto this Channel.....one video and I was ALL IN.....Cheers Everyone!

Unique guitar style, great singing, fantastic looks - what else can you ask from a rockstar?
Wow, I never knew how that sound was made. Cheers for solving a decades old mystery for me.
DO YOU FEEL LIKE WE DO. ONE OF THE BEST JAMS EVER. GREAT HAIR TOO.
How good were all these songs! You've picked out the very best - SUCH a huge bonus to hear the artists discuss their songs. ❤️
Man, I loved "Show Me the Way" when I was 13, in the '70's. Great memory!

You were 13 all through the seventies? Lol
Frampton was a little before my time, but my older sister had some of his stuff and I remember being fascinated by the sound of the talkbox without ever knowing how it worked. I guess I'd assumed until now that it used an electronic process similar to a vocoder - turns out the truth is more organic, and a lot more fun! I think this is also the first time I've seen him in interview - certainly seems a likeable, entertaining, down-to-earth chap. :) I also enjoyed the vintage footage of Pete Drake playing the original version of the device. It reminded me of watching Leon Theremin - another unlikely, smartly-dressed 'rock star' at the cutting edge of alternative instrumentation.
Incredible song.
We all need beautiful things in our lives ❤
I saw Frampton in 69 and KNEW he would be a big star. It was obvious.
I remember this guy's songs, and wavy hair. Incredible how he looks nowadays. Always my favorite since the late 70s.
What a nice person.
I was never a complete Frampton fan, but liked several songs. Glad I got to see him live in concert.
What a time that was. Frampton Comes Alice and Cheap Trick Live at the Budokan were such killer live albums.
Highschool working nightshift at Safeway we turned up the stero and listened to the Album Frampton comes Alive the music is as good as it gets it was feel good music it was real good music.
I saw Peter Frampton on a Day on the Green in 1976. Man, I am old!!

Never too old to rock n roll mate !
What a blast from my past. Thanks for the memories.
THAT SONG sticks in memories BECAUSE of the talkbox Frampton uses! The reason it is stull played today. I made myself a small talkbox i used with my synths and keyboards all thanks to Peter! Lets face it Herbie Hancock used something similar decades later a 'vocoder'
God I love this song!! ❤️ Peter does the most amazing version of My Guitar Gently Weeps!! ❤️ Peter Frampton!
I love this channel all my childhood songs do have stories, wasn't bubble gummed in a factory somewhere cos frankly lately a lot of songs sound like they have been packaged in a factory
People forget just how good a guitar he is.

Finally, after 40 years I now know how he made that sound! I need that device! I'd carry it around with me and talk to people in public. It would blow peoples minds!
I saw the Frampton Comes Alive tour at a Day on the Green in Oakland. It was a long time ago. Life was different.
I asked Peter for directions once & he showed me the way.

Omgosh!! I was sitting in the college parking lot when a friend tapped on my window. I was listening to my hot pink Bad Company 8 track, and he asked if he could swap me for his Peter Frampton 8 track for a week. Of course I made the swap! Such a fun time! 😀
One of the most underrated rock stars.
How beautiful he was!
A legend of the guitar!!!great musician with lots of fantastic music's .great channel!
I saw him live and it was in my top 5 best concerts I've ever seen
Thank you Peter!
Music makes my heart sing 😊
Peter. Thank You for showing me the way!
best live album ever
I like some of the videos on this channel, and others feel like they're just getting started before the end. I love the ones where the artist actually explains how they started the song from a germ of an idea to it's completion

"feel like they're just getting started before the end" That's the mark of a good story.
Love these videos.
Peter has to be the coolest and nicest dude..
One hell of a player.
I think it was at least a solid year of FRAMPTON comes alive, and it happened exactly at the time of my first marriage ( WAY TOO YOUNG) but all my Beatles stuff sat in the new flat, and the new wife and me just listened to that talk box. AND I refused to curl my hair and go blonde. As a musician I had no idea who FRAMPTON was or why anybody cared if he came alive. Well, apparently the boy gathered quite a lot of credits along the way and I became a fan. I admit I went back to a SOLID diet of Beatles.. but when I hear that talk box I g back to my first apartment my first wife AND my first dog (believe or not), My memories of that time are so precious.
Great number thank you so much
If I could have a one time 1 hour lunch with anyone in the entertainment business, this would be the person, he's so humble, so down to earth.....no arrogance....awesome!!
Erg leuke afleveringen, maar veel en veel te kort!
You guys are amazing for making these videos 👍☺️
The talkbox defines this artist as much as the wa wa pedal defines Jimmy Hendrix.
🎼 Wah wawawa 🎶
Wow. After all these years, now I know how the thing works!
I was eight or so when Frampton did Sgt. Pepper's with the Bee Gees, that's what I remember him from most.
"Thee Deflower Song!" 💕🤣💕
The Great Peter Frampton
I would have liked to hear more about the creation and meaning of the song...
I listened to that album about a hundred times and I haven't heard him coming once.
The minute he talks about always looking for one effect for one song if it works, first thing that popped in my brain was the question of whether or not Peter ever got his hands on the Tom Scholz Hyperspace Pedal (if only for a single session). Has he?
I Love American Accent 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
cool, I enjoyed him explaining how the talk box came about and how it works, I can remember when this album first came out. it was like no one had heard of this guy even though he had a few albums out because the studio albums had no life to them and never got played on the radio, so when he did his best songs live and they had all this great energy, it was like wear did this guy come from, so many good songs, it was like a greatest hits album done live but it felt like an entirely new album of new songs because no one had heard the studio recording before. it was kind of the same situation with Kiss, there studio albums had stiff performances and were badly recorded, and when they came out with the Kiss Alive album the band took off. because the live energy was so much better than there studio albums. it was like hearing them for the first time.
i love this channel

Yes mate addictive !
The talk box doesn't work if you don't play guitar perfectly. And Frampton is an absolutely amazing guitar player.
The 70,s Ya !
Man we loved that LP. Two years later it was the Pistols, the Stranglers et al

Great

Boy that guy really looks different then in the day
Every once in a while I pop the live album on the ole turn style and realize just how bad today’s music is. It simultaneously overjoys and depresses me. Overjoyed at his music and depressed that work of this quality is becoming so rare. Edited to add: subscribed!!! 👍👍👍
Let me make sure I understand this: the “Wawa” was coming from his mouth not from something he was playing on the guitar. Is that correct? I always thought it was just some kind of distortion that originated from the guitar.

The guitars notes are projected into the mouth by the tube, opening and closing your mouth operates like a wah pedal. Play music from the speaker on your phone and put your mouth around it. Make shapes with your mouth, same effect.

@@iain2080 Yeah. It's a bit like a Jew's (=jaw's) harp. Or even a blues harp (harmonica).
It is a wonder other bands didn't try to implement the talk-box into their songs. Perhaps they saw what Peter did and felt they could not top the genius of what he did !!

I’ve seen Peter in other interviews and he is a pleasant person. Add self deprecating humor. He is a classic. Oh, the still photo of Peter on the video is not flattering at all.

'First Homer steals my pig, then Cypress Hill steals my orchestra and now Sonic Youth are in my cooler! Get out of there you kids!!'
I always thought Peter was American! I have been surprised so many times! there either American or British.. one in the same. One at a lesser degree!
If ever there was a great prospect for a map sale, it would be Peter Frampton. ;-)
So why not do another album with the wah, wah sound..maybe a deep blues type or in you face one since you r known for it. When I go to a Frampton concert.. I feel he regrets it a bit and won't explode on stage with his signature wah move sound making it short and quick. But credit him also with a great singing voice and quitar play making him the great rockstar he is of r generation.

First time I've seen young Frampton with something other than a Les Paul.
Terrific guitarist and tone - an original...
cool
Great teeth.
That was interesting and all, but what about the song itself? Why does he need to be shown the way? And to where?
How did I get here?
Joe Walsh, Jeff Beck and Stevie Wonder I believe used it all before Pete. Except Jeff Beck used the bag. I have a talk box and it's a heil.
oh boy...hes still handsome as sh*t!
1:05 Bill Wyman on the left?
Inigo Montoya on drums!
Pete Drake finally getting his due somewhere at least. He's a pedal steel guitar legend.
i stumbled on the pete drake video a couple nights ago. i know the joe walsh story but had no idea about pete drake
I shall certainly remember you for this, Peter, but I shall also equally remember you for "I Don't Want Our Loving To Die" with The Herd and "Natural Born Bugie" with Humble Pie.
the book a year in province is in this band ...second gutar or bass player , and btw Frampton comes alive , peaks at the peak of disco , there wasn't much rock an roll to go around ....strange daze
I was watching Bowie on the glass spiders tour and he suddenly said "I have a guest" and out walks Peter Frampton who was a tax exile I believe at that time, I was already in heaven { OK it was Sunderland} because I was watching Bowie so you can imagine lol
...and many many years later Korg invented the Miku pedal :-)
