As a lifelong Kiss/Peter fan, it warms my heart to see this, but it also makes me sad. We *finally* get some jazz out of Peter, and it's his last show. The crowd was loving this, along with the horn-soaked "R&RAN" (a pretty great idea that sounds killer), but Peter never really went into this musical world because he thought his fans would shun it. As long as it was good music, Peter could have played anything after leaving Kiss, and with the Kiss association alone, he would have always had a built-in legion of diehard fans. He should have toured around the release of his solo albums in the early '80s, stayed plugged into the music scene and hooked up with good songwriters and producers, and had a healthy post-Kiss career, but there were many wasted years after 1980. He had the voice, presence and personality, but thinking he could cover all bases was a mistake (see "One For All"). The band CRISS was nice, he got some music out of his system, but doing hair-metal during the grunge craze wasn't good timing. Post-Kiss, he should have focused on material that was more R&B, soul and jazz. He seemed to enjoy that stuff more than the hard rock, and he has a solid voice for that kind of music. At least the Peter Criss faithful have this performance to hold onto.

Oh my Lord God Almighty!!!! Vincent Innocente, thank you so much for this video. I have loved Peter Criss since I first saw an old black and white video back in the 70s. As like many other young drummers from that time, Peter was the reason I became a drummer and not a trumpet player like my dad was. My father, played along side Louis Armstrong and jazz music ran deep in my family. Seeing Peter play Sing Sing Sing and how much he enjoyed this classy music made my heart swell once again for the Catman. Thank You so much.

Something tells me that if Peter had been born a tad bit earlier, he would’ve been a ridiculously good Jazz drummer in the Jazz Era. Hell who knows couldve even been right up there with guys like Buddy Rich. Hell, maybe even better. I always noticed his jazzy feel to his drumming in Kiss. Some People talk so much shit about the legend that is Peter Criss. He’s done it all. The heart and soul of Kiss. May God bless him for the rest of his life.

Indeed man!! as on another video he does the same song somehere here on YT! He has dificults keepin' the tempo.
Tempo takes such a nose dive, but it's all good. He looks like he had a blast. Thanks for the memories, Pete!

That's what I thought too, but not being intimate with the song I just let it be the way it was and STILL AMAZING.

Yup, tempo was up and down through the whole song, pretty disappointing.
He should have done this decades ago as this type of music is his first and true love. His career would have been much more successful.
The dude is 70 years old and trying to have a retirement gig and we got guys on here telling him how to play swing drums. Get a life and learn some respect! Nice job Peter!

Amen! It's sickening. And the thing is, no one baggin' on Peter have ever played at his level. Stages all over the world. It's easy to be a douchebag when you play in your bedroom or basement all the time. Show the man some fucking respect.

True! Peter has more groove and feel in his little finger than most of the naysayers. When they have played to millions worldwide and have played on albums winning many awards then they can talk. Until then have some respect for the catman!
Peter could play a trash can & I'd pay to see him over the Kiss of today anyday...Peter RULES!!!!
Wow he sounds great! And you can tell how much he loved playing that! The Catman!
That's the Cat Man I used to love! Hey, Peter it is good to see you again playing!
Thanks for posting... I miss the Catman!
Great work my friend....🙏🙂🇳🇿
I love this... great playing! Wonderful performance and a classic song...

Peter was a huge Gene Krupa fan and said he based his "Alive" solo off Gene's "Drum Boogie"
This was really cool. Peter and the band sounded awesome.
Peter Criss... THE Catman! I loved this!
PEOPLE CAN SAY WHAT THEY WANT ABOUT PETER.HE'S STILL THE BEST.THE REALITY IS( AND I'M SURE PETER WILL AGREE WITH ME) MOST OF WHAT YOU HEARD IN PAST KISS ALBUMS WERE SWING AND JAZZ BEATS THAT HAD DIFFERENT VARIATIONS TO THEM BUT WERE ROOTED IN JAZZ..RINGO DID THAT WITH THE BEATLES IF YOU LISTEN CLOSELY.I HAVE A LOT OF RESPECT FOR PETER CRISS.MORE THAN JUST KISS ALONE- HE'S STILL A TRUE ICON..THERE'S NOTHING LIKE PETER CRISS..
Bravo! No one swings like The Catman. Listening to Alive and Rock And Roll Over inluenced me as a drummer. Peter also sparked my interest in jazz technique's to drumming.
Swing it, Peter!
He is playing so good right now . Wow awesome peter 👏
I love this; hey Pete, release on DVD; it will sell!
Swing baby! Killer stick man, great singer, lyricist, crucial component of an entertainment empire...hell yes. And massive influence on me as a drummer. Thank you sir.

It's great to see Peter Criss playing what he loves to play best, JAZZ!!👍👍
His drummings are like melodies. Evoking in mind on and on through the decades.
This is really good. Wonder if Paul Stanley has seen this after all the disparaging things he said about Peter's playing in his "tell all book"?

I love you so much Peter!!!!! Come to Argentina 🇦🇷PLEASE!!!!!!
I'm so happy to see this it actually puts a pie in Paul's face he kept it in tune he kept it right on key I don't know if you speed it up at one point but he was definitely doing good I just wish I could have seen his last show in New York the price was so much wish you would have bring it down for people who couldn't afford it but I guess you just didn't care I cried that night very hard knowing that I couldn't see the cat man cuz he was actually my favorite in the band for awhile besides Ace I'm happy that he did this it shows that he still had his chops and that he could play and puts all that other stuff that was said about him to shame hopefully one day he'll do a show where I could afford to go I met him a long time ago the Manhattan you was so nice to me met him another time at a convention not so nice but it was okay I understood he wants to make his money and that was it he used to say it wasn't really all about money I guess now it is and his new wife is really making fans really mad I hope he sees what's going on he does the right thing respect for you Peter that's all I have and love for what you've given me in my childhood I really hope you do one show that people can afford or at least I could least afford a ticket missing that show hurt me so much
awesome...love it..bass line is awesome to
Peter Criss, baterista sin fronteras y de gran clase mundial...😸😸😸😸😽😽😽😽
FANTASTIC PETER !!
the real catman
It's a real joy to watch Peter play the drums even back in the day (kiss days) i would enjoy listening to his Solo's and whatever song he sang, he's a good guy in my books. There !!
My inspiration to be a drummer! MY IDOL!
The man.
Hey ¡¡¡!!! Peter is awesome
He's one cool cat !!!
Great.. fisrt time I see it. Peter on his own. Krupa was his early and most remarkable influence. Very good, nice to see him on drums again.
Awesome...
This is so cool great job Peter Thairs a little bit of gene Krupa in all of us 🥁
Awesome
Even did the interpolation of "Christopher Columbus" too! Nice sticking to the Benny Goodman arrangement!

Yeah I think the Benny version will always be Criss’s go-to, due to his Krupa worship.
Peter! Peter! Peter! Impressive!
He dragged a lot, probably because of arthritis, but the guy learned every single hit. I was impressed by that. Too bad he didn't learn the lyrics to I Can't Stop the Rain.
El gran Peter Criss
Enjoy your retirement Peter you're a humble man and great drummer!
Oooh did a little bit of Belson too nice!!!!
That was actually pretty good
His idol was Krupa! Great job
impressive!
Peter criss non è solo un grande batterista rock ma è anche un grande batterista jazz non che allievo del grande gene krupa
❤
Puuuuurrrffffeeeeccctttt
I love Peter's raspy voice.
Peter, why were you dealing with the Gene/Paul headache for all these years when this was your post Kiss calling? You are killing this jazz bro man!!! Special talent.
😎✌️ Peter Criss
I have to remit it
That '' Soul and Swing '' !
He’s one cool cat, man!
Peter was a Huge Gene Krupa fan and based his "Alive" drum solo off Gene's "Drum Boogie"
Awesome! The Catman lives!

Paul Stanley said Peter Criss could barely hit the drums during the Kiss reunion tour in the 90s? Ummm. That sounds like drumming to me.

Paul is and always will be the biggest narcissist to hit the business, his poor ego gets hurt every time he gets criticized. He stops the show and gets to play big man with his security there as always.
