Peter Brotzmann / Mark Sanders / Anthony Cox
Trio performs live at the Minnesota Sur Seine Festival 2006. That is a tarogato that he is playing. He told me it is from the 1830s or 1840s. Fire!

I attended this concert. Thanks for preserving a bit of it. It brings back fond memories of some very exciting music. Brotzmann can sound like a flock of birds. Sorry you didn't get more of Cox. Great stuff though.
Unusual and different, I love Anthony Cox's bowed bass "solo" at the end. Creative cat.
Brotzmann is a beast!
Is amazing this shit, I love it this music.
amazing vid, thanx
Like a goose in heat! Yea! Why in the world was the bass solo cut off!
this is one of the most amazing pieces of free impro i've ever seen or heard!! Too bad the double bass solo is cut short...
who needs a soprano sax?? i'll definitely learn the tarogato.
nooooo it's such a shame it cuts out where it does - i advise everyone that listens to this to start a fade on the heavy scraping bass or you will be sorely disappointed
Where's the string section?
@ramshorn8 - this video does the taragot serious injustice. Please look up Romanian and Hungarian musicians here to check out what real taragot playing is supposed to sound like. For example, look up Luca Novac (RO) or Csavas Atilla (HU).
Ouch!!! That hurts!!! this sounds like a cross beween a mad duck and a moose in heat. Sorry , I was looking to buy a taragato. It sounds overrated for the price. Please some one email me some links of a good tarogato music.
its invisible, sucka
Serious abuse of an otherwise beautiful instrument, the taragot.
