Update - Laura is doing great. It’s 14 years since she was first diagnosed, and although she still has cancer with daily medication she lives a full and active life. Laura became a mum via surrogacy 4 years ago. She still works as an entertainment reporter for Scottish television.

I can't help but make a theory: might the fact that she's a journalist help or correlate with this? Perhaps she has the skills to sit down at home in deep thought and articulate them well, maybe in writing, while distilling the important questions and honestly tackling them. I believe that properly orienting one's life by figuring out exactly what expectations, worries, and hopes one has can make somebody as formidable and resilient as they should be. But this is an extremely hard task to do honestly unless you are hellbent on pursuing the truth, hence my interest in the connection with journalism.

People manage their diagnosis and emotions in different ways. Some people can't stop crying and to other it's not a big issue. In my experience, I have family who cry because they have cancer or their relatives have and can't talk about it, and to my mom and us (my mom has cancer) it's not a big deal to talk about it.

It is an underrated skill (I know calling it a skill sounds cringe, but with how uncommon it is it is hard to say otherwise) of acknowledging when your judgement may have been false or a bit hasty. It’s a mistake every single one of us makes, understandably so considering the struggle of trying to sort through the nigh-impossible complexity that is real life.

Never knew much about him, but I have a tremendous respect for him. His questions, support and empathy are to be commended. Cancer is a lonely place to be.

“You are gonna have touched everyone of us today, we’re gonna be talking about this later” He was right! I have no idea who these 2 people are, yet 9 years later, this video was recommended to me, and I was so touched and inspired by it!

I like how not only he shows empathy towards her, but can actually ask questions about where she's at with her cancer and show that he's very well informed

The more I see of Peter Andre the more I think he’s a national treasure. Bumped into him at Center Parcs a while ago and he was friendly, charming and utterly normal.

With most interviews there is no talking more about a specific answer, once the interviewer gets the answer they want they move onto the next set of questions but here it was honestly heartwarming

I can relate to both sides there, I spent around four months doing 8hrs of chemotherapy three days a week. And now in year four of remission I struggle daily with anxiety and panic attacks. Both very different but very real struggles!

That's what struck me, too. He switched focus completely to her. And not in the standard fake-ish way.

The way he responds to her telling him, was the same as a dear friend youve been chatting with and suddenly they tell you "I have cancer", he was genuine in his concern and asking questions that were respectful yet informative and not patronizing. I dont know who he is, YT recommends the weirdest stuff - 9 years after its posted lol but Im a fan of both of them now. Blessings to them.

Wayyy back in the 90s he had a massive hit in the UK with Mysterious Girl, where he was shown shirtless in the sea and became a teen pin up. A few years later, he did I'm a celebrity with Katie Price (a.k.a Jordan page 3 girl) and they married and had 2 kids. Katie/Jordan has always been regarded in the media as a plastic bimbo, so people are surprised that her ex husband is such a nice, intelligent guy

That’s how I look at it with my testicular cancer. If you let if take over your life, it will. But if you keep your head up high and spirits up, it shouldn’t bother you too much. Just my personal experience though, everyone is different at handling things

I have no idea who either of these people are, because I accidentally clicked on this, but that was a really touching moment.

Peter Andre is a lovely guy. He has no malic in him and only wants the best for people and his family & friends.

I love how invested he is in the interviewer and her story, this man really cares

I cannot agree more... Bravery and courage... My daughter passed away in August 2021... and I have never ever seen such courage. She had chemo, and clinical trial drugs as well as radiation, but when her cancer was found, it was already too late. She chose to fight... so we did... if only for the statistics to help others. All the best to all affected in this video. I pray with my whole being that cancer be eradicated. Lost my father to kidney cancer. My sister, and only sibling, is end stage metastatic breast cancer. Those given the gift of life should LIVE... for there are those who lose that chance. In memory of Emily... forever 33. My prayers for you all.

6 1/2 years with colon cancer watching my Dad lose his battle is heart breaking, I lost my Mom in a few secs to a heart attack. I pray that everyone goes fast & easy. Cancer is the devil.

Love him or hate him. THIS is what makes him more than just ''some pretty boy off the tele.'' soon as she told him - he instantly cared, he instantly asked HER about HER situation, HER life, he didn't make it about him. At the end, Peter said that "you are truly amazing," and he was completely right. Thing is, for different honourable reasons, I think both of them are amazing and it's truly heartening to hear that this amazing lady is now a mummy and doing well. God bless you both and may he keep you safe x

True story: I was in Costco and saw a lady walking back and forth to the ice-cream freezer. I playfully asked “you can’t make up your mind” and she laughed and said “ I’m not sure which one I can eat with my chemo...” I almost lost it, I just looked at her and gave her a hug. She said “Thank You, I really needed that” 😥 Seriously never know what people are going through. Be polite and kind always 💜☮️✨

That is so lovely. I need to remind myself to be kinder to people, I mostly think "gotta consider their financial situation or life's stresses" when trying to stay polite, but I never even think that someone in that moment could be going through a diagnosis and is probably venting their frustration over something that I can never imagine going through.

Peter is so humble, although have no idea who he is. I admire people like him where they are so humble, caring, respectful

They both seem super lovely, this was a really sweet human to human moment. We all can show more empathy and care towards one another.

He lives in my town with his family and is a regular at the cafe I work at, and he is so humble and lovely! So glad people see this side of him now! Very soft-spoken and decent.

I had no credit for this guy for two decades. Man I was wrong. Now it is level 9000!

My cousin died a few weeks ago. She was only 3 years old. Tumors on her spine and back to the neck. Some people just don’t have a chance in life I feel the pain. Bless all people struggling.
