Not to mention his "biography," and his calmness and overall mental outlook. He's willing to engage in a healthy discussion, not gonna give the answers that u want to hear without alienating you AS BAD if you're wrong or disagree with him, and also wants to listen and learn from his mistakes. You shouldn’t fall into the fake “socialism” trap that right wing republicans have created for you. No American politician with any degree of support is socialist by any definition. And no, Bernie Sanders is not actually a socialist. But this country could benefit from realizing some of the advantages of systems in social democracies that work better. I worked for years in the pharmaceutical industry. Anyone who has more than a superficial understanding of healthcare knows that single-payer healthcare systems are far more cost-efficient than the crazy mess we have going on here. There are pharmaceutical companies stealing hundreds of millions of dollars from our government right now for drugs that do not work- I know because I’ve had them as clients and sat in on their meetings (of course there are many more that produce life-saving and valuable treatments). My point is, we’re the only country that wastes enormous amounts of taxpayer money on useless treatments. Instead of having a knee-jerk reaction that pure free market capitalism is always the best and anything social is the worst, let’s actually pay attention to reality some more and see what works.

I was born and raised in south bend. Moved to California in 2007. There is no justification - beyond greed - that housing should be more than $450/month in any state. Red or blue. No reason a basic house should cost 800K or higher.

You know, Mayor Pete definitely already has my vote but the more I watch and listen to Pete (and Chasten) the more I come to understand that, irrespective of his political fortunes, Pete and Chasten will be just fine in their lives together. It’s easy to see how in love and how contented in their lives they are. I can’t imagine that Pete approaches any pursuit worth his time and effort with less than complete dedication. If Pete doesn’t win the race he’s running, it won’t be because he did not give his all. I’d wager that anyone who’s not a complete partisan can recognize the genuine earnestness and the deeply-held convictions that appear to fuel his quest for the highest office in the land. You can agree or disagree with him on the issues of the day, but you can’t say that he’s doing all this for an ego boost or to financially enrich himself. Mayor Pete is, to me, that rarest of political creatures: he is entirely genuine...a man who definitely is what he appears to be...nothing more, and certainly, nothing less! A person like that has found his path and his passion, and having done so, he’s already ensured that he will always be a winner in life in general.

I just want to add a couple of things. It goes without saying (except it seems like it needs saying) that you don’t have to be a homophobe to oppose Mayor Pete. I think that only homophobes fear being called homophobes because...well...they’re homophobic. One thing they don’t enjoy is being called out on it. They used to be able to count on people like me to be too scared to speak up and stand up for ourselves. Those days are long gone. Lastly, if there is one thing that I come close to adoring about the ‘phobes it’s that they are so well-versed at sticking their foot in their mouth. People like me don’t have to condemn them, every word that falls out of their mouths does that better than I ever could. Give them enough time and space and their own words will create the most grotesque portrait of themselves imaginable. I truly believe that the vast, vast majority of Americans are nowhere near homophobic. I don't believe that Elizabeth Warren can hold her own because I've seen her being attacked and she it's not... there's something that's not "there". Klobuchar can handle him because she's cunningly smooth as you saw in the Kavanaugh hearing. Harris sometimes throws a punch that's unnecessary and overshoots, which refuel satisfying, in a debate setting I think she might create sympathy for Trump. Gillibrand can just go away. Biden go home, much baggage, your time is past. Bernie go sit on a rocking chair and look at the hills. Too pooped for the rest.

I disagree with him on mandatory public service however I would an expansion of non-military public service option for 18 year olds.
