@@Filippines.FeverDream I think that feeling you have might just be a byproduct of watching and listening to someone that is intelligent and also a great speaker and communicator. You can always tell a good communicator is effective when you can transcribe their answers to paper/text and the written paragraphs and sentences read as if you were reading a book. Maybe that's what you're feeling?

Ya, that's a bit extreme. He's had numerous public debates and filmed discussions that have gotten him into hot water. His proficiency in public speaking is best defined as "competent" or "professional", something that's matched by virtually any other educated person, which is increasingly becoming a rarity in US politics. Even if he were exceptional in this regard, voters NEED to prioritize policy and position qualification, expertise, consistency, etc over something as superficial and totally subjective as how someone's televised communications make them feel. In this regard, Pete is sorely lacking.

As an electrician who works in a city with many EV chargers already, they NEED to make these chargers WITHOUT a cable installed. The charging cable needs to be in the possession of the vehicle owner. If these chargers are left out in any less populated areas, their cables will be hacked off and scrapped by junkies right away.. This will turn into a never ending repair job for these chargers. They will never be working, as people will just stop going to these places if they’re down.

I have driven EV (it's not a Tesla because of Musk) for two years now - problem free - in Denmark. Throughout old Western Europe, there are plenty of public charging stations and lightning chargers. In Denmark, there are 20-30 miles between superchargers along the entire motorway network. Around 70% of all electricity is produced with renewable energy. It is possible to start a transition to a co2 and air pollution-free future :D Thanks for a good interview!

I'm curious why everyone needs to add all these qualifiers. "I drive an EV BUT DONT WORRY ITS NOT A TESLA IM ON YOUR TEAM I SWEAR". Or "I drive a Tesla BUT I'M TRYING TO SELL BECAUSE OF ELON I'M BLUE PLEASE BELIEVE ME." You don't see people driving a Chevy saying "I drive a Chevy BUT I'M NOT A CLIMATE CHANGE DENIER I SWEAR" despite that GM has a history of advocating climate denialism and being very close buddies with the oil industry. Or Toyota with sending reps all over the world to try to kill EV bills. Or Ford for buying EV startups so they could fire everyone, take the patents and IP, and use it to hack and slash other EV startups. Similarly, you don't see people saying "You drive a Ford? I didn't know you were an anti-semite like the company's founder!". Because we all know you just bought a car. You didn't buy a political ideology, or buy the personal beliefs of one of the executives.

I grew up in a town that gas stations on nearly every corner. These were the jobs many of us had as kids. Now there are but a handful, it is almost as hard to find a gas station as a charging station but you can have a charger at your house not a gas station. I am not defending electric cars but not condemning them neither. I have been a mechanic since the 70s and have seen basically no change in cars from the 40s till the early 80s then it started to improve with advancements. This is happening with each E vehicle that is coming out, it will take time for them tom surpass what we have as gas cars now. Remember your first cordless drill, no power and could barely drill a few holes before the battery died. Now every contractor uses them and it has sped up production time not looking for an outlet and extension cord. At this time for me personally needing a full size 8 ft bed pickup traveling 350 to 600 miles on a single trip it would not work but my wife tops out at maybe 30 in a single day this would work for her. Even thought i will be moving soon to a place that is rural she may do 100 at the most for a single dy and i have the ability to set up solar to charge. I still may need gas for a while till charging and batteries get better but hat day will come.
