En realidad el primero en interpretar esta canción fue la cantante afroamericana Gwen Macrae, en 1972, mas tarde la interpretó la cantante de música country Brenda Lee y luego en 1973, Elvis Presley grabó un disco con esa canción. Jhonny Christopher, Mark James y Wayne Carson fueron los compositores de esta fabulosa canción. En 1987 la agrupación de música synth-pop , Pet Shop Boys, produce un cover de Brenda Lee con esta canción, con un sencional estilo, que ocupó el primer lugar de los top ten por varias semanas. Como podemos ver no fue Elvis el creador de esta canción. Para mi concepto la versión de Pet Shop Boys es la más hermosa de todas.
