@@rutbuck121 I heard Mameli say in an interview that he likes to control what he is exposed to in metal so that he can keep his own sound. That is the old school way keeping your own culture instead of following what your phone tells you.

Yes! I relegated them to the once great status after the first reunion album and gave up on them (I heard the follow up was worse) but this will bring me back

I was listening to a Spotify generated mix and was actually blown away, had to double check, what I was listening to! This is perfect material, and I love the vocals!

Yeaaaaaaaaaarghhhhhhhh love it. Mameli's voice has never sounded better! Lovely progressive solos. Best of Spheres and Testimony combined. I hope the other album tracks are as strong as this one, it's going to be sick!!

Perfect blend of classic and modern Pestilence, another great job by Signor. Mameli, can't wait for the album.

Pestilence can be heard out of the thousands of death metal bands simply on their guitar tones and style. That is what makes them unique to me. No one does it better than Pat & co. nowadays. I would say they are one of the biggest original founders of what we now know as the more orthodox, technical, rhythmic and very intricate guitar playing styles. Djent for example is a playing style that borrows ideas and sounds from bands like Pestilence and developed its own form to what you hear now. Other bands like Meshuggah really helped this too. The 90's industrial scene inherited this as well and spreaded into other bands in different sub genres like experimental metal. I would'nt call all that an evolution, just a different take on it. ...But enough of the history lesson! Bang your head and pump your fist in the air.

What's new from Cannibal Corpse? I haven't heard anything good from them since Chris left. Please tell me they have a new singer after Corpsegrinder? I just don't like that guy's vocal approach or his voices, e GAD. Personally, I think a new singer would bring them tons of new fans and listeners, and an enjoyable new experience. Just sayin...

@@jeffreylieberman1668 You're in the minority when it comes to Corpsegrinder who imo blows away Barnes. Corpsegrinder has been on on more albums and Barnes vocals have been horrible for years. 6 feet under is so boring
