Jon Snow lives Vampire hunter D, Wicked city, Fist of the north star, Golgo 13 - the professional, Ghost in the shell. Depends what you like in anime, so many different kinds. There are some great anime series to watch too like Claymore, Attack on titan, Desert punk, Cowboy bebop, Samurai champloo, all the series are pretty modern but still great.

You'd like Ghost in a Shell, Cowboy Bebop and maybe Samurai Champloo. Attack on Titan is a newer style, but its definitely adult oriented.

When I found New Retro Wave the first thing that came to my mind was that this is the kind of music and mood I've been searching for my entire life. And I finally found it.

this music coupled with Akira gave me chills over and over and over again. soooo sick.

Idk if it's just me but this song combined with Akira makes it seem a bit depressing, considering how the movie ends and everything, not to mention the atmosphere this movie creates. And this soundtrack was meant to go with Akira. it's amazing.

It's kinda sad most people only know Perturbators contribution to Hotline Miami, he's a great musician who deserves more recognition for his other works.

Air-toAir Dog Fights, Street Fights, Shoot outs, car chases doesn't matter this song fits and gives you an off balance intensity, the song makes it self puts you on the edge of your seat. @@nicoginting5674 Turbo Killer is a cool track. He's too noisy most of the time, for me. Perturbator is more subtle, nuanced.

The music kicks ass, but so does the visuals. It's astounding that animation from the 80's looks exponentially better than the majority of animation being produced today. Death to Cal Arts bullshit, down with the 3D nonsense, this will always be the way to go.

The person who made this video did an outstanding work. This may be the most stylish, incredible, breathtaking and just plain awesome combination of a music track and a video clip I've ever seen, at least in retro-wave/sci-fi genre. Hits me every time I watch it, and I've watched it quite a number of times and still haven't had enough. Shit, this video is so good that if I were the one who did it, then that would be enough for me to say at that already point that I didn't live my life in vain.

The cartoon is Akira... it is a classic anime one of the first anime to blow up in America.

This was one of the first synthwave tracks I ever heard and it was like a gateway drug for me. It's now 2019 and this is still one of my all time fave synthwave tracks. So legendary.

The best synth track ever created. Like this is what I would imagine playing at the climax of any badass movie or game sequence. Video fit the song so well.

ya know before even seeing this music video, whenever I hear Perturbator's music I imagine stuff like Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed etc. I guess the artist did too :D

@@cat-le1hf yeah, while I can get the variety on the radio, people like Perturbator could have done better tracks than Grimes or Run the Jewels. At least nina kraviz dj set at the debut was good. And to a certain degree, some uk jungle/dnb/ early dubstep (think kode9) fits cyberpunk extremely well (from a Fischer/Land perspective)

Still the best synth arrangement in all of the genre, including Perturbator's own following albums.

I love the part that starts at around 0:55 . Such an awesome beat.

For some reason, the 2d parallax scrolling of skyscrapers at the background is massively reminiscent of 16-bit console games. Maybe a whole lot of people at Sega and Nintendo took an inspiration?

Considering 16-bit console games didn't have 3D graphics I doubt it's a mere coincidence. Parallax scrolling is simply a way to convey a sense of movement from camera's PoV (ie. in a sidescroller game "background parallax scrolling" makes it look so that your character is moving along the stage as you move forward, if that makes any sense). It's a commonly used camera trick, that's all.

I used to have a game on my Neo-Geo called Last Resort. The first stage was pretty much a mirror image of Akira's city-scape. Check it out on youtube...music was great for that first stage as well.

+Reirainsong You're right, there are tons of games from the 16-bit era that took inspiration from this. Although Last Resort is the most obvious, there are many others. But I woudn't say that the reason is only because it's a camera trick used in old graphics. Considering how influential Akira was, being the first OVA to be exihibited in the movies worldwide, and the fact that it's often pointed as one of the best sci-fi narratives ever, it's no coincidence. Nevertheless, as everyone was influenced by Akira, Akira itself was also influenced by others(such as Blade Runner, for example). These others represented the influences of the people that used to make games in that era.

I don't understand why Hollywood doesn't use badass music like this.
