There's already a "remake" on psp that adds a lot of cool stuff. Maybe in more few years we'll get a remake but I really don't think that this game (on ps2 or psp) has gotten that old. If Atlus would make remakes of one of their games I would prefer SMT 3 Nocturne.

While that's surely true, Persona 3 The Answer happens on 2010 and I personally think the "rise" of depression and wishes of suicide isn't just a rise, but that we just actually discovered way more cases than before, the number has already been massive since before 2010. Which also means Erebus's power might already be close to omnipotence. Although yeah 13 years have passed since then and many new people were born, so now it surely is. I'm just trying to say Erebus was closer than you thought which is impressive.

Something about this fight always makes me tear up. The beginning notes of the theme, setting the commands for your party, hearing them all give their usual battle chatter or cries--I dunno, something about it just hits me really hard. Especially considering what they're up against, and how personal it is for them, even moreso than when they fought Nyx.

So, I did a little digging. Technically, Erebus is of the fool arcana, the arcana that represents man's will to cling to hope. ...which makes no damn sense, except for one conclusion. Erebus is THE inverted fool, man's fall into despair. Which makes perfect sense. But it makes me wonder. If Erebus is the best damn representative of the inverted fool, than what could be considered the best representative of the fool? Perhaps satanael from persona 5? And more so, Erebus is unlimited in capabilities, it can wield all elements, and with a bit of brain to it, it could theoretically use any ability in the persona series, I would think. The point I'm trying to make here is, Erebus is the best possible villain for a persona hero to face. The hero is the fool, and a wild card, capable of wielding multiple personas, as well as modifying them however they see fit, making the wild card an infinitely capable being. Erebus is the opposite, it is simply one being, but with inherit unlimited capabilities, while personas are limited in what they can do. On top of that, the wild card is one person, often binded by those close to them to grant them further strength. Erebus is the representative of an entire collective, a mass formed into a singular being. The opposites only increase the more you think about it. Fool=hope Inverted fool/erebus=despair Wild card=singular being, often empowered by the few around them Erebus=a collective mass of untold amounts of people, empowered by the majority who created it Personas=limited by themselves, but modifiable and numerous Erebus=unlimited in capabilities, able to use any move with no hindrances The hero=a simple human granted unlimited capabilities, called upon to change the world for the better Erebus=a being called upon to bring an end to all, made infinitely capable and powerful by the sheer vastness of those called upon it My point, erebus is and should be the ultimate villain of the persona franchise

actually elizabeth megidolaon only takes 9999 damage while erebus HP is 12000, she need to do it twice in order to kill it for every single year, or she could just use hacked death critical skills twice to ultimately one shot it

I'm surprised you got through the battle without doing it once, the more times Erebus uses Primal Darkness the more damage it deals. Erebus is also secretly vulnerable to all elements during its charge up period, so I'm impressed you managed to put out enough damage to win but not enough damage to interrupt it.

"Cool! The guy who sacrificed himself to become the Great Seal." Erebus: Touch P3 MC: Don't touch. "Wow! It's SEES, the group dedicated to combat the Shadows and who ended the Dark Hour." Why did they start reverting Aigis back to sounding like a robot in later appearances? Like it makes sense for PQ since thats pre-Ikutski, but in Arena she talks more like a robot than the human she becomes in P3 FES

I wish I could destroy misery and regret like they do.

My strategy was to use Makarakarn or Magic Mirror so that Erebus could get 4 times the damage he gives. Recommendably Makarakarn on a Persona without weaknesses and Spell Master so the SP use of Makarakarn is 27.

I actually loved the spike in difficulty in the answer it really taught me to utilise my personas and abilities and expose weaknesses as much as possible whilst fusing whenever possible. Although the journey was my go to game story wise the answer provided me with that kick in the backside and not to take shadows lightly considering it was normal mode it was still hard at times.

I'm excited to see how this fight will turn out in the Reload DLC.

Iziah Bush me too until I collected some of the accessories that null 1 elemental magic as a result my entire party canceled half his atacks XD Along with that just spam Odin with Thunder Reign and he'll go down it just takes time, a lot of time -_- and being on your toes

Matt Greyson Quite frankly I fucking can't stand Metis. I have a deep distain for any character that shows up, causes trouble, acts unapologetic and then demands that everyone side with her and listen. Not only that but she can't even back up her badass boasts. Sol Badguy she ain't. Labrys is really cool though, and I would have liked to see her pop up more in other games

Something about this boss doesn't seem right You notice how even during the final encounter the true primary antagonist of Persona games (We're strictly talking from 3 onward) at least tries to communicate with the player in his usual boasting nihilistic "Nothing can help you now" kind of attitude The weather deities in Persona 4 do this, Nyx does this...Erubus? It doesn't talk shit to you at all during the fight. Its literally just a mindless monster that has the power to control Nyx which I guess uses Nyx to speak for it because it has nothing to say to lesser lifeforms.

As a result Nix takes pity on humanity and tries to perform the fall the only way to stop this monster was the protagonist to sacrifice himself to create a wall that this beast can never pass keeping Nix out of its reach

Erebus is a sort of physical form of humanity's wish for death, for the fall that Nyx was going to bring before Door-kun stopped it by sealing Nyx away so Humanity's death wishes couldn't get to it. Probably not the best explanation, but I tried.

That I know, but Metis explained that Nyx had no intent bringing the fall on Earth since the beginning of their conception, and during the journey we discover that the experiment caused Tartarus to take form, and that Tartarus exists for the porpuse of summoning Nyx. What I'm trying to say is, that Erebus was the result of the experiment that created Tartarus because only after it Erebus reached Nyx to make the fall happen, Tartarus took form and Nyx's 13 scattered pieces were separated around Iwatodai. That also explains why Erebus looks like an unfinished abomination compared to other gods of the unconscious.

Erebus is a being of the collective conciousness. The experiments of the Kirijo Group was made to call it, and thus Nyx, to reunite sooner (albiet they only knew of Nyx)

Satanael is a boss fight in Soul Hackers but in Persona, he's only the ultimate Persona of Joker in P5. He could've meant Yaldabaoth, God of Control instead but I dunno.

BlacKRocKShooteR Gaming Dont worry, all Persona games are connected and Innocent Sin taught us that multiple timelines exist in their world. Persona 3 mentioned the possibility of time manipulation. Persona 4 that Nyar and his rumors still run around. Its only a matter of time until Elizabeth found a way to save him. All she has to do is become able to enter another timeline and find a solution and we know through Tetsuya that its actually possible to enter a different timeline and change history.

MC would want to stay dead after being in a dancing game whoring himself out.

So they state it cant be killed for good when the Will of Mankind to Die doesnt go away. So all they would need to do is make Erebus available to beat before Nyx is coming. And its ridicoulus that the Sees Members without the Main Character managed to defeat it. Makoto has the Wild Card and the World or Universe Card. With this Power he should be able to kill it entirely because a Power who can hold the Universe could overpower or override anything. That also means the Powers of Nature. Also we could get a true Happy ending with the Remake because i be honest i loved the entire Theme and Meaning of the Game. But i want a happy end for all of them because they suffering way too much. Especially the Girl you romanced. And your Friends. And its called Persona 3 so two Endings feel wrong there should be at least 3. Persona 4 and 5 have so many Endings and all are good in some way. Persona 3 needs a new Ending who is entirely different because even the good and bad ending have a lot in common. So a true Happy End would be better. And the bad ones can get even darker. I mean they forget everything but The Fall is still coming but we never see it coming even tough we picked the Bad End but you cant see the Bad in there. Because you dont see how the Falls comes. The Remake could make it like Persona 5 Royal make the original Vanilla plot available. And the New Ending with new Semester and stuff is hidden trough certain Social Linls and choices you make in the Game one Key Role could be reviving Chidori. At least thats what i would wish from the Remake and some other small things. And Erebus can be the Final Boss or Nyx both are great. Or make both at the same time. Aigis becomes Human would also be good for people who romanced her. Thats all.

@@dantecrailman8861 so you say even when someone had the Power to rewrite The entire World he couldnt defeat it? That makes no sense. Someone with powers that can change the Fabric of the World should be able to get entirely rid of Erebus. But when you mean that Sees without the Main Character couldnt do it it makes Sense because they dont have the World or Universe Card. The question is could they win and get rid of Erebus when Makoto would fight with them.

@@michaelbarrett8141 No, since Erebus is the manifestation of humanity's yearning for death. The only way for Erebus to be erased as stated in the Answer is if humanity stop seeking death altogether. That's why the Great Seal with the power of the Universe arcana was created: to prevent Nyx and Erebus from reaching one another and initiate the Fall once more.

@@dantecrailman8861 well i dont think you understand what it means to rewrite Reality itself when you think Erebus still would exist after that he wouldnt. His entire Existence would be gone. And when you can rewrite Reality you can always create Humankind the Way that no one wants to die. Powers over the Law of Nature and the whole Universe would be always able to get rid of Erebus entirely. Of course thats only speaking theoretically.

@@michaelbarrett8141 You're only speaking in theory, we don't know if Makoto is capable of rewriting reality with the Universe arcana since he died and become a seal.

The ONLY persona games that make Order Command is freakin useful. P4 and P5 is not really good cuz you can freely control them. Not many order to choose and I always stick to free command. I want P3 feel when fighting.

The Answer is awesome and I'll die on that hill.
