The worst part about persona 4 is that the girls don't even get that angry, they're just sad and disappointed. Like, if they got angry you'll at least get a clear sense of what you did is wrong, but when they get like that it almost seems like they believe the problem is with them and not you, and that's more soul-crushing than anything else

To be fair, with Narukami's bros, one of them was completely socially unaware of the situation, and the other was jealous so he was perfectly fine with letting him crash and burn. In Amamiya's case, two of his bros weren't even aware of his situation, and the third one was a talking cat that half of his harem can't even hear. At least Amamiya had Brojiro on the case to smooth things over later somehow, Narukami just got murdered by Nanako. Then again, in Narukami's case, all of the girls somehow ended up blaming themselves for the situation, with Chie even straight up telling him she was "fine" (not really) with him cheating on her....so in a way he got off scot-free....if you count 5 crushed souls as free...

Ironically, in P5, the girls don’t even care that you were seeing literally every other girl in the room, they just care about this mysterious and non-existent woman that was actually Ryuji. On another note, Ryuji is a soft boi and Sojiro is the best bro you could ask for because he somehow manages to convince every girl to keep dating you.

I'm surprised that people consider Persona 5's scene "worse" (in the sense of severity or pain). Yes, Joker getting his ass kicked may seem painful, but it's focused on a more humorous side (with things like all the girls being suspicious of seeing you with Ryuji instead of being suspicious of all the other girls in the room, or Sojiro saving your ass), yet in Persona 4 there's nothing funny, no snarky comments or a comical scene (Nanako's chocolate or Yosuke-Teddie-Kanji scene happens regardless of the Harem route), it's just having to see how each of the main girls feel bad about themselves, things like Chie accepting the idea that you can cheat on her because of the lack of confidence she has in herself as a woman, or Naoto implying that she already realized she's being cheated on, but prefers to lie to herself to not feel worse than she already does. In my opinion the Harem route in Persona 4 will always be the most painful.

but new game plus is easy because you keep your money and weapons, and you also get a Confidant boost for any confidant that you maxed during your first play through...in other words, it's not too bad for the player. If the game actually gives you a bad ending, and even erases all your progress so you don't even get to keep the money you earned and weapons, that sounds like an even crueler punishment

I've never done a harem route in the persona games, and after watching p4g's harem route ending, I'm never going to do it. The anxiety and sadness of it all has left me shattered
