P1-2 writer left the company, therefore they don't touch those games excluding little things like promos for series anniversaries. That's a pretty decent reason imo. Ports, not remakes, don't sound bad though since they don't require narrative adjustments

@@Tim_Belay That's actually interesting, I wasn't aware of that. I don't think this should mean that they shouldn't give Persona 1 and 2 more attention though. I think they could easily preserve the stories of both without having the writer there to consult with.

The title screen music theme gets me everytime its very bittersweet makes you feel sad somehow

I just found about Persona some years ago, but that title screen theme brought me memories of when I was like 4 or 5 years old and i played games with my dad on his PlayStation 1 (he mainly played horror games on those times, maybe that's why the type of music sounds soo familiar).

Sadly Atlus has their hands full for the next couple years, they're working on PQ 2, the Catherine remake, just released the dancing games and have to keep supporting them, are working alongside arc sys for P5 Arena, and developing P6, wich by their track record, probably will come out in the next gen at the earliest. But it is in fact more likely that we will receive the remakes a couple years from now, when the hype goes down a little and they finally decide to stop milking P3/4.

I really like this intro. It's so densely-packed with meaning and even fits the tone of the game better than the original, in my opinion. All the tiny and subtle visual details that go by in a flash simultaneously communicate a ton with their abstract symbolism, as well as demonstrate how crazy and chaotic the plot gets. The ending then tops it off perfectly by adding just the right amount of melancholy, making strategic use of the few simple, yet straightforwardly meaningful shots. (This also serves as a great contrast to the abstraction and energy in the beginning.) The one thing I don't like about this intro is how it wastes time showing off the party's personas. It's not engaging or thrilling to look at like a proper action scene, and it doesn't really communicate anything other than "Look at these awesome designs! LOOK AT THEM!" But yeah. Overall, really well-composed intro. I'd love watching this at the beginning of every episode if it were an anime.

P3-P5 is just a power fantasy P2 Duology is a masterpiece that is anti-empowerment because of the well executed conflict involved. The teenagers didn't feel like they got JoJo stands and actually participated in the conflict either as a reactant or the producer itself and the second part involved them as adults because in the first part they were too immature to solve the conflict, this is the plot without going into too much details. And Persona 2 Duology as a whole is the best RPG of all time in terms of writing.

Me personally I prefer an HD remastered version than a remake, Kaneko's old school artstyle and esthetics is good as it is.

@@raptorjetaXD2 They can be confusing, yes, but I was referring to getting your hands on the game through means other than roms. I was more making a comment on how not properly preserving games means when store fronts die, like the PSP's online store, and recently with the 3DS store and all the SMT games that are now lost to time because of it, you either have to get your hands on roms (and that's a shit chute in its own right), or you're at the mercy of obscenely bullshit physical copy sellers. Atlus has a massive section of their library that's just about lost entirely. So, if the base is clearly hungry for it, and they're not bothering with Steam ports, why not remake 1 and 2? Out of all the Persona titles, I feel like 3 already has enough love and attention - 1 and 2 need it more, if nothing more than to preserve where the series started/reintroduce it to people who haven't played them.

I love the physical format and I perfectly understand that it is going to disappear and that more important than that is that despite the fact that some other shitty game is lost, that is the point that simply any game after a while is lost due to digital download Luckily for me, I still know a place where I live (Chile) that still sells games this old. In fact, the owner of a store showed me that he has the entire collection of the Persona saga up to the PS1 in Japanese version, and if the point in general is that Atlus is not interested in rescuing its oldest sagas and titles, Persona 1 and 2 has its It has been going on for years and for someone who wants to play the entire saga for 5 or the remake of 3, they will despise the first titles because they feel rough or bad in terms of gameplay or graphics. and it sucks that the preservation of those titles that, despite not being masterpieces in the history of video games and were the foundations of a future saga, for example the first fallout, but at least there was an effort to preserve those Titles (or then there is the option of Sega and Capcom releasing compilations of those games at a price of 30 dollars without changes)

Dekunere p3p is a downgrade since no overworld movement. P4g is basically only upgrades. If you really do suck at video games there’s a p3 fes mod for controllable party

So I just finished Persona 4, thus im only missing the first Persona in the mainline of the series. Though 3 and 4 were pretty damn good, especially mechanics wise, Persona 2 is still my favorite of the series. A shame, that 3 and 4 kinda favored the whole social link thing over the darker tone of its predecessor. Still one of the most quality jrpg series i have played yet. Pumped for P5 :D

Yeah, the whole social link thing was a really good idea, well executed even. I have the feeling P5 will have a darker note though, which will most likely up the experience for me. Its just, that I like dark plot elements and especially P4 had few of those.

I'm watching this after playing p2 is, and I noticed few things in it, just tell me what you think about it Spoiler alert though 0:00 it's write "believe in you" on the watch 0:10 , the grand cross prophecy 0:11 , is this a mecha of the last battalion ? 0:13 Jun's mother ? 0:15 , the younger Maya behind the old Maya 0:36 , Joker and Tatsuya at the shrine, joker just go on fire with everything else, is this the innocent sin? 0:49 , hey, who is it? Philemon? 1:18 , look at the joker's shadow, spoiler in the first cutscene At the end, all the dors represent all the ultimate persona of the cast.

In the background shot of the street there's a bill board advertising for a company called cucci.

What I wouldn't give for a PC or PS4 port. Putting this on the PSP was a crime.

So long as there's no social links, wild cards, the enemies are demons not shadows, and the more serious tones. The first three Persona games are more SMT than modern Persona. And they should remain as more SMT.

The fucking plot quality rivals Steel Ball Run. And im not fucking around when I say that. This is not a basement dweller harem cunt empowerment fantasy like the other Cucksona games. This has actual negative consequences and thematic exploration and the symbolism actually has relevance and is not just there for retarded cultural remembrance and fake complexity, Joker and Nyarlothep(Funny Valentine and Kira of Persona and yes these two beat the living shit out of Akechi and Adachi in quality) were not random and generic reality warping evil for the sake of being evil cosmic horrors like Izanami and Jalbadaoth, they have good characterization and have grey morality. YOU DID A BAD DECISION REPLACING THE WRITER OF PERSONA 2 .......ATLUS!!!!!!!

Yes Persona 5 has better gameplay but that sort of bias is the same as saying KNY is better than Monster simply because of PRETTY COLORS. PLOT IS 99℅ JUDGEMENT

Persona 3 Persona Users can use Persona out of the tartarus, but they need an evoker

This is the best persona game I ever played though MIP, P3 and P4 were also good. :)
