I read a bunch of negative reviews before I tested this one, and I seriously questioned whether my nose was working properly, because I LOVED it. Yes, the drydown uses a modern woody musk or two, but I think they're judiciously dosed and pleasant. And the opening is on another level - the most mouthwateringly tangy citrus accord I've ever smelled, mixed with that dry, dusty, smoky black lime. It's like a storm cloud interrupting an otherwise obnoxiously sunny day. Goth citrus.

If you enjoy a perfume, don’t ever question your nose 😉 I’m pleased this one has struck a chord with you.

I tried this at Sephora a couple of weeks ago and I remember liking it but not remembering why I liked it. Perhaps it was the dry down. But at that moment it did not remind me of Bleu or Sauvage. I like this cologne line but I'm a bit biased as I tend to love/like anything from Hermes. Some from the cologne line hardly last on me while Eau de Mandarine Ambree leaves an oily patch, like an extrait, and lasts as long as an EDP. Did I misunderstand when you mentioned you will be going live on YT shortly after this video? I saw this last night but I'm commenting now. Thanks!

Thanks so much for your comment. I'm so pleased you liked EdCN; whenever I don't particularly like a fragrance, I almost feel reassured if it's struck a chord with someone else. Yes, I did go live on YT after this video, but that was several weeks ago :-)

This was love at first sniff for me because of the incredible kumquat opening. However as the infatuation wears off, I started to dislike the scent because of the ambroxan bug spray drydown. I would gladly buy something that only have the TOP notes of that s one.

I really like this review. I wanted your feedback if you prefer this Hermés Citron Noir over Concentree Eau Orange 🍊verte..... i want to try longevity good performance edc from Hermés. Have you done a review on new H24 Hermes? Have blessed day. I do believe Citron Noir is better than Sauvage line.

Most juicy citrus i know. Its all about the juice, not te zest. I don't get the tipycal ambroxan note that many smell (you included). I feel that the smoked note is something different (I need to try bleu or sauvage again to compare). Anyway, I really like that one for the 3 first hours, less for the dry down. Have you tried eau de gentianes blanches ? It's the typical formal splendor that Hermes can do.

I enjoy this one and am pleased you had an influence in it! The opening is the best part though. I am not a fan of Blurgh..or Sauvage either!! 👍🏼

Can you tell us more about wearing Cardamusc. They seem to sell it partly as a layering perfume. It is beautiful and I tried layering it with Miller Harris Poirier d'un Soir and arrived at something I liked a lot. Oil is an interesting perfume option. Recently I also picked up some Vintage Calèche in oil format and it was gorgeous. Hermès bring this back please!

I must confess, I haven't tried it for a while. I should try to revisit it soon. Thanks for watching.

My collegues an I usually call Bleu de Chanel: "Blödes Chanel", because the prononciation is almost similar (this is german and means: stupid Chanel) But I must admit, that I like the perfume version 🙄. I think, that I am hypernosmic (is this a word?) to Gamma-Undecalactone, because I can't stand Erba Pura and some other Fragrances, that contain this ingredient. What I wanted to say about the Citron noir, I totally agree: I liked the notes of citrus with hints of tea in the opening, but when this part fades (much to soon) the twist to this almost showergel-like drydown is too harsh. It reminds me of these grooming products on which is written "FOR MEN" in big letters, these products leave the same olfactoric stain behind, when the first blue aroma burst is vanished.

Yes: I believe hyperosmic is the correct word. I love your Bleu story. And yes, it’s a shame that the Hermes becomes so brash so quickly.
