the rule is clear, if you use a heavy tank with slopped frontal armor that abuses poorly done in-game mechanics like the volumetrics, you must accept the 8000 repair costs or wait 2 weeks for free repair.

@@ahnov6670 nah, more like a misunderstanding, Pershing can't stand long 88 shells to the front only medium 88 and long 75, unless fired at weakspot. America just got a better Pershing, the T26E5 which can stand long 88 shells to the front with no problem, unless shot at weakspot, and the best part about it, only 2k to repair.

The Pershing is probably my favorite tank in the game, it is so much fun to use despite it's sometimes annoying mobility and lack of penetration on its m82 shot. Just the feeling of seeing a tiger 1 shooting you and nothing happening is great. You know it happenes and they just kinda think "hmm, wel shid"

I love all Pershing variants. Especially the T26e5 & T26e1-1. However there is one more variant I hope to see added one day. The T26e4 is a second generation Super Pershing. I think it’s interesting how many people often confused this tank with the T26e1-1. The main difference between it and it’s predecessor the T26e1-1, (other than the extra welded armor), is the T26e1-1 uses the t15e1 90mm gun while the T26e4 uses the t15e2 90mm gun. Also, the T26e4 doesn’t have the “Pringle cans” on its turret. 25 T26e4 Super Pershings were built. However, only 1 still remains.

It's already in the game, as a premium at 6.7. It's called the M26E4 tho, iirc. EDIT: scratch that, apparently it's the M26E1 with the 90mm T54 gun, still really similar if not the same really. Technically the name for the T26E1-1 is incorrect too as it was converted to a T26E4 (first prototype) from a T26E1 chassis. WT uses the 'wrong' designation for that vehicle. Although it still carried the T26E1-1 name painted on the vehicle even after conversion... so I guess that's fine by me, as it's an unique vehicle.

@@Wotplaya4 no they're not similar, the T26E4-1 uses the T15E1 gun that needed the springs (pringle cans), the T26E4 had a T15E2 gun which had double piece ammo and didnt need the springs, the M26E1 was mounted with a prototype post-war T54 gun, so basically they could add a medium M26 with a T15E2 gun without the added armor in game to fill the 6.7 medium tank gap we have now, they could also add the M26A1 to the US honestly

But regardless it would be very similar to the already existing M26E1 we have, but it's a premium so it might as well not exist for me. Regarding the M26A1, I heard the 90mm M3 had access, late war or post war, to the stronger M82 round too, so that could just be added to the already existing M26 and T26E5 instead of needing an entirely separate vehicle for that round.

iirc the T26E4 was the T26E1-1. The T26E1-1 begun life as a trials tank for the T26E1 before being upgraded with a better gun and having the equilibriator springs attached to the roof, with its designation changed to T26E4 Pilot Prototype No. 1. It was then sent to Europe where it received extra armour in the form of boiler plates on the Hull and a chunk out of the front plate of a wrecked panther on the mantlet. Unless you mean the production version of the T26E4 which did actually receive the T15E2? The production version is actually the production M26 (T26E3) with the T15E2, which is basically just the in-game M26E1 premium

put the T25 back to 6.0 or at least give us the version with the stabilizer

I grinded it as fast as possible, when it was added to the game tech tree, years back. Spaded it and it became my main tank to play ... Without using any GE, i've managed to get the crew level to 149,5. It lacks mobility, but it's reliable on any map and packs a punch, that no cat can take. With the 6.3 br, it sits at the best sweetspot of the game. 1049 arcade, and about the same number, realistic battles on its belt.

@@AFT_05G Ehm ... yes it can. I did quit that russian game, when russia attacked ukraine tho, so i can't face you in that challenge atm, but trust me, tiger 2 is no match to it. Not the P nor H or even 105 version. In sim battles, tiger might have situational luckyness, but in realistic or arcade, M26 just eats tigers! Oh btw, german was my main tree before they put USA in game, so i know german tree up to leopards as well.

The Pershing is so iconic and cool. I wish that they didn't uptier all of the US line with any armor on it into irrelevance. If you take the entire 3.3 to 6.3 US line of tanks and add a little bit of armor and then add 50% (!) to the main gun's penetration, you get the German tank line in that range. It's kind of crazy that that is still the case so many years running. Someone at Gaijin sees the Tiger and Panther at 5.3, every time they look at the BR sheet, then sees the M4A2 76 and M4A3 76 tanks and goes "these are the same". I mean if you take either of those Shermans and try to line up at an optimal angle on the protection analysis, they are just painted fully green, from top to bottom and left to right, at 500m against the Tiger 1 and Panther D. They might as well be reserve tier armor. Now take the Tiger 1 and Panther D, angle them slightly, and do it again against the Sherman 76 at 500m. Almost unpenetratable with tiny slivers of green that volumetric will likely eat. There is nothing wrong with working armor! Just move US tanks to where they also have working armor. I like armor meta. I like fighting strong heavies in other strong heavies. Same goes for the Pershing against the Tiger IIP at 6.3 and for any equivalent medium or heavy tanks for Russia or Germany. What I'm saying is about 25% ranty complaint and 75% just wanting to play fun tanks without them being wet noodles with paper armor. I really want to play the US line but there are like 3 tanks before 7 BR that line up even remotely close pound-for-pound to Germany/Russia. Britain has the same issue. Help us play our favorite tanks without hating ourselves, Gaijin! Please!

British tanks there will match the germans at 4.7BR, since 5.3-6.0 has like 3 or 4 tanks total. Once you get to 7.3 and 7.7 for britain, then you find yourself proving your supremacy against everything you find with 300mm pen APDS.

@@ajamcan7264 Yeah, Britain and the US both start opening up at 7.0. But they would be on par with Russia and Germany if you moved all of their tanks from 3.7 to 6.7 down .3 BR. Seriously, they wouldn't be OP, they'd just be closer to the same strength as the other two major powers.

Its a trashy belrusian game a proxy state of russia literaly speaking it is one of the most unrealitic games out there.. You have 1950 and 1960 american tanks vs 2010 rusian bmp and russian 1980 heavy armor of 1996 retrofit tanks at the same br as 1970 stock model without its era. Dont play the game untik the biased trashy players and devs fix it. Or play only germany and russia and whatever new nation they add for the 1 year of glory it gets.

Yeah i’d always take a Tiger II over a Pershing any day there’s huge difference in frontal armor and gun performance but they’re the same BR.

I feel like the Pershing was really short-lived,It was a good replacement for the Shermans and if it arrived much earlier in the war,it could've been developed on even further and it could've received a longer term of active service

I'd love to see a Pershing in the French tech tree. They did use them and France badly needs more vehicles at 6.3-6.7.

All I know is my Grandfather turned in a Horse for a Stuart and commanded Tanks and Tankers into the late 1960's. He liked the Pershings. He was leading a troop in Korea and watched a noobie freak out and bail out of his Pershing along with the rest of the Crew and that Tank bounced down the side of a mountain, until it landed smack dab in the middle of a CP, at the bottom of the Mountain. He was much relieved , when he got down there and founded that the CP had closed shop and moved out the night before. He did weapon system evals, for the Joint Chiefs as a Command Sergeant Major. Very cool dude. God rest CSM Otha P Swicegood. 2 Wars, Life of Service, incredibly cool Man.

They were great when I played them 2 years ago but seeing all these T series tanks raised in br ruins them. I don't think the super Pershing should be on the same level as the t34 or even close to it. The t23 and 25 should be similar to panthers only less armored and more mobile. No reason to have them higher than all other panthers including the later versions when they no longer have stabilizers

I mean even then the T25 is still worse then the panther without the STAB, it was perfectly fine at 6.0 with the STAB, and so was the jumbo 76 fine at 6.0 too.

I noticed sometimes the tanks don't turn into rust when burned up immediately which was a cool feature I'd been waiting on

Fun fact!: The m26 pershing in game can bounce short 88 and long 75 shells if angled extremely!! Though beware, where the turret meets the hull, the armor is 35mm thick. Think about how good your opponents are!

Are we just gonna ignore that the Pershing shot a Chi-To in the middle of Central Europe at 4:52?

The thumbnail was the Battle of Cologne. That scene in the thumbnail was the Panther tank being shot at by the Pershing. The reason the Panther lost cuz the commander said “Not Sherman. It is our ally.” NICE ONE

The Pershings are easily some of my favorite tanks, in the game. Between my M26/T26E5 line-up and my Jagdpanther/Tiger 2 (P) lineup, idk which is my favorite.

Every other nation tanks: Reliability, Armor, Low Cost, Good Armament and they had to chose from Meanwhile Pershing: Everything + A E S T H E T I C S

I've listened to a audiobook named Spearhead. It's about the tank gunner who actually which involved in that filmed tank battle you talked about.

Most probably t26e5 will get up br cuz it's op in its br i like this tank

Pershing always felt to me like a big brother guarding the little brother - the Sherman.

Love the series of this tank! Just missing 1 thing... a stabilizer!

My thoughts on the Pershing are that it is just an un fun pain to use. It’s bigger prototype and later variant are more fun to use and less expensive. I don’t want to play a tank that’s costs me most of a games winnings to use. It costs more than basically every other tank above and below minus the T-95. And at least the T-95 makes it feel earned. It’s also facing stuff it really shouldn’t. All the American tanks need like .3 slashed off their BR’s and maybe a couple more SPAA’s to avoid such drastic BR jumps.

Mmm, the M26. My best secondary brawler tank ever, I paired it with the T26E1, M41 and the M42, and two aircraft. I love this thing, it's *made* for a secondary role, but in downtiers you can slug it out if your T26 is knocked out. Absolutely wonderful to play.

the Pershing is fun to use, mobile, decently punch gun, its an all around vehicle, its just the repair cost that throws it off, along with other American tanks at the br like the T25, Super Pershing and T95

I love the Pershing... especially the Super Pershing. When i am having a bad day and getting my butt kicked over and over... I click on "Ole Reliable" - Super Pershing... and I kick butt in it.

I would never listen to any of these, if this guy wasn't voicing it, his voice is amazing and fits in perfectly.

Pershing was an excellent tank for it's time! I don't really think that they cared too much about the mobility like us gamers seem to do, it was more than adequate, it addressed many of the previous generations concerns, and pioneered ideas that would be fleshed out and used for years to come such as the engine and power pack in the back easy to swap out and get it back helping troops. The 34-85s it faced were no real problem hence why the e5 wasn't ever moved forward, and then the better turret making it a M47 show just how brilliant the thing was for it's time. Then beyond that it kept the USSR at bay for a long time even after the US was feilding the m48. You could even point to the M103 and call that a success to a degree as it did serve the marines very well and previewed M48 features before it was rolled out, albeit mainly a Pershing underneath it all. Nice video, and nice tanks in game!

The m26 is a very versatile vehicle. The armour is good for most situations and the gun can be great when played cerectly. The only downside side of the m26 Pershing is the traverse speed; sure it has a better engine but it's power to weight ratio is below average. Overall, it's a fun tank to play.

I prefer the T-44 over the Pershing, but one thing for sure, at least the Pershing has better penetration, either Gaijin increases the penetration of the APCR up a bit (so we can penetrate Tiger II (H) more reliably) or change it down to 6.0 (or make it have preferable matchmaking) because ATGMs are a pain to go against.

It would be nice if the T-20 wasn’t at 6.0.

I learn and understand deeply what is 'suffering ' means like after getting into BR 6.3 .

I love the Pershing, its very fun when you get a kill and the enemys shell ricochets.

Has anybody wondered why the T26E1's applique armour is modeled as structural steel, rather than RHA? That makes the armor weaker than it should be for the weight it adds to the vehicle.

The M26 and is predecessor T29 that was born from that line of tank, a some of the coolest semi modern tanks. There are still wicked tanks from other nations thT Really like, but those 2 and perhaps The entire line of IS series tanks of the soviets.

USA tier 4 tanks abuse from the unecessary volumetrics mechanic to bounce shots where they shouldn't, if you still manage to die with them even when this BS still a thing you're just bad. fun experience i had against pershing today, dude destroyed my turret ring, i shot his LFP corner which is a weakspot but the shell just bounced, ok his cannon breech got destroyed by my ally, mine also got destroyed, i repaired and shot at the same spot again, this time it penetrated and ammo racked him, in real life a long 88 wouldn't even need to aim for weakspots to penetrate it's front... unless KwK is different from the PaK, i might check out.

If you didn't know, a StuG can kill any Pershing from the front, including the T26E5. just aim below the gun like you do with the Panther and the shell with bounce into the bulk in front of the hull. Bedsides, like all German mains have said to other countries mains at 5.3-6.3, jUst FlAnK iT

The Pershing was Probably the First Tank in the American Line that Love, most likely due to the fact that I use it Heavily in CoH.... @6:20 I'm pretty sure that Pattons are not in service today. I guess M60s are still in reserve and its bridge layer variant is still used, but they are not classified as Pattons, so I dunno if that counts.

The M48's stock APCR round in pain but i like the pershings

Man if the repair cost is lower... Great tank though, and it is a visually pleasing weapon.

its kinda slow but fun if your positioned well

M26E1 with its long 90 melts big cats and I adore for doing so.

Long 88 melts it too since it can actually go through it’s UFP at close range unlike Long 90 which can’t penetrate Tiger II’s UFP at any range.

M26 T99 is my FAVORITE TANK

I like the over all tank but my favorite variant has to be the super Pershing that is my kind of tank a beast none the lest

Lower the M26E1 BR, it got 100mm on the front at 6.7, yes the cannon is great but so is the Tiger 2(p) gun with better armor at 6.3

I can speak of my WoT experience in the Pershing as I'm grinding China ATM in WT. The Pershing is the fun all rounder that can do anything that's required of it. I personally enjoyed it very much and definitely place it over my T-44 and Centurion. I imagine that the Pershing preforms the same in War Thunder.

I would love the tank more if you'd fix the T33 shot already...it still has the same penetration as the outdated M77 shot the T33 shot was explicitly made to replace. Also if you would fix the armor type of the T26E1-1's welded on hull armor that'd be great. For some reason it's listed as structural steel and given the same modifier when it was boiler plate, that's a 30% difference in the quality modifier (it's currently 0.4 while it should be 0.7). These historical fixes would not overpower the vehicle but it would make it far more enjoyable and authentic. C'mon Gaijin it's been years and these are very well known issues. I don't imagine either would exactly be difficult to fix either.

The super Pershing is my favourite tank in the game, but it’s just ruined by its repair cost and being outclassed by the T-34 heavy at the same br

But when we go separately with the cross play disabled. then everything is fine, we play without geeks. how to make sure that we in the platoon are not thrown to the computer specialists ??? thanks in advance

It would've been great if it introduced in 43 or 44 It would've made a difference against the Tiger I, II or bigger tanks.

May I ask why the Italian M26A1 has such a high repair cost when the thing is kind of garbage when stock?

Repair cost is almost identical to the US variant. And at least the italians get an upgraded shell along with it
