Here's How to Paint a Watercolor Background! You guys asked, and here it is! These are all the various watercolor painting techniques I use to create an abstract watercolor background on my coloring pages and artwork.

@@lauracolorstoo plus my ink tends to smear when i do that also the watercolor paper i have is too thick for the printer. Would using my backlight was a no 2 tracing it help?

I’ve just finished reading Mythos by Stephen Fry (well, listened to the audio book). If you love Greek myths then you will love this book and I would highly recommend the audio version as Stephen Fry brings it to life so well (I think it would be a “heavy” read otherwise) Only just saw this so think I’ve missed out on the picture but will apply it to something else. Recently started a picture in a Hanna Karlzon book and have finished the skin and it looks amazing (I think I must have done about 100 very light layers with those polychromos 😂). I used your technique from one of your live-streams Thanks Laura

I don't have a printer and I'm on total lockdown in Illinois. I'm really enjoying working on this size print and I'm still nervous to start in your book - LOL!

Would you consider a tutorial with Arteza Expert colored pencils someday. The are so much better than crayola pencils. For the price they are pretty awesome

Laura, I wonder what kind of printer ink do you use? The ink my printer at home uses is not water proof, so I can not use water media on my print outs.

I'm using a regular inkjet printer! I waited 2 days before I started watercoloring on it and avoided the outer lines as much as possible! I also tried the draw this one with a watercolor background in mind: not too many tiny outer lines make it simpler to brush around. So when you see how long it really takes me to quietly curve around things or allow them to get lost on the mix, it's because the outline is simpler to handle. I plan to go over the lost lines with pencil later.
