PERMANANT brow ptosis from a cannula?! Temple filler safety tips & cannula advice.

I recently came across a patient who suffered from a permanent brow drop as a result of temple filler with a cannula. This patient immediately suffered brow asymmetry after the procedure that we thought would improve with time, but instead just persisted. So, how could this happen?
In this episode I discuss why this has happened, the anatomy of the area, and how you can avoid this happening to your patients.

Hello DR Tim, similar to this case right after upper eyelid filler with cannula I noticed drop in my lid like ptosis and since then my eye is smaller. (12 days and dissolving filler partially had little effect on it) Even though ptosis is rather mild, this eye is significantly smaller. I can raise as much as much as my other eyelid, though swelling makes it a little harder and can't pop my eye like the other one but you can see about 5mm above my iris. Do you think it may improve even after 2 weeks? Do you think is it muscle or nerve? Is it that easy to permanently damage muscle or nerve with cannula? The doctor inserted cannula from outer side towards my nose bone. He didn't use any sedation and I didn't feel much pain at all. I regret doing it. Wanted to repair so trivial asymmetry in upper eyelid now I have huge asymmetry and ptosis in my eyes. Devastating experience.
