people cannot deal with aventus getting anything but compliments i have a 20 batch and i reach for my green irish tweed much much more often aventus is good but i dont get the level of aggression when its not give 10 out of 10. keep doing reviews the way you do i come back because you give real detail and i purchase your products because they are what you say they are !!

Nishane is one of rare fragrance houses today, that creates strong fragrances, with gorgeous silage and projection. Some of their gems are Sultan Vetiver, Patchouli Kozha, Monegu, Africa Olifant, Musiqa Oud, Vjola, Sued et safran, Spice Bazar..... a signature fragrances. Purchasing Creed today is a robbery, fragrances that are gone in 1-3 hours are not worth a purchase at that price point, altho they where and felt luxurious few decades ago.

Excellent review Aaron!... Love the scientific breakdown of the chemicals involved and your knowledge of the perfumes. You are right, they are similar but different. If I had to choose it will be Hacivat, as I wear this already. The price, performance, projection, packaging is all worth the price in comparison to Aventus!.... at one stage I really wanted to buy this, but is over priced and performance is poor. However, the smell is refined, smooth and favorable. It is a great shame, so many colleagues and friends have bought this and regret it once they smelt Hacivat on me!.... All have been motivated to go and buy Hacivat as you smell awesome, heavy and powerful. You are correct all the Creed Aventus batches smell different and performance level has become poor by the batch. What is going on? They really need to have a look at this. I would like to have a bottle but it currently is getting negative reviews from colleagues, friends and others which has put me off this perfume plus its price and performance is ridiculous. One can get other alternatives and clones for cheaper and still smell great!... such a shame from a much hyped perfume when it came out first, but I found Hacivat to be better and stronger!

I've never tried Knee-shah-nay Ha-chi-vaht (^_^), but I hear great things about it. I'm actually quite glad you say it's very different from Aventus. What I dislike most about Aventus is the Birch note which I believe gives it the 'smokiness'. I'll get a sample of Hacivat. Thanks.

Picked up a bottle of the Naraf Club de Nuit and while I know you don't care for it, it does smell exactly like Aventus and for a 1/10 of the price, I will keep it. Keep up the good work.

I wish Creed would step out of their comfort zone of releasing classic gentleman style fragrances and do something really dark, sweet, resinous. Unfortunately their newest release is just a “cologne” flanker of Viking so they’re clearly content to rest on their laurels.

Thank you! 🙏 I could never understand how people compare the two. But I never say anything to avoid unnecessary conflict lol. Hacivat is a very dry, dense, patchouli bomb on me with some oak moss adding to the earthy ness, and I definitely smell the lemon and orange, in fact that’s the color that comes to mind. Smells very Middle Eastern, and like a head shop. Yes, very base heavy, like straight oil lol Aventus is very light and airy, ozonic, woodsy, salty with nuances of leather and a very strong musk with pepper and juniper berry adding to the dryness. Slight smokiness and a tart sweetness. Very westernized. The two are completely different imo as well.

Hey, as far as I know in 2014 Aventus was priced at about 120-150 pounds. The price of Aventus skyrocketed in the last few years, as it was the case with other Creeds. I think George the Fragrance Apprentice also have said that in his Creed related videos.

Eh, the Creed aventus-batch saga is a dang shame. I fell in love with the aventus back in '14/15, when first getting a sample and then a full bottle. Got a newer batch about a year ago, and frankly, it's so disappointing. It smells "kind of" the same, but the balance between notes is WAY off, the richness is gone, and the depth has suffered as well.

Presumably for there to be such big batch differences either the materials going in have to be very different - or the ratios do? I am assuming that the conditions they are added in don't make a large difference - but of course I could be wrong about that? One would think that the raw materials (particularly as many of them must be aroma-chemicals still, rather than natural extracts - which would vary more, but still surely not that much?) wouldn't change so much - so does it not suggest they are playing with the formula - either perhaps as a way of making it better, or as a cynical commercial ploy to get people to talk about it & pay outrageous sums for other batches (or would you say I am being too cynical?). I am intrigued by the length fragrances last on people's skins. I've noticed on my own pale skin - nearly all fragrances, cheap or less so last for a long time, but do not project. I've had clone fragrances that lasted nearly a week on my skin, even though I was showering daily (admittedly they were a skin scent long before the end). Do you think that there is much variation in how long different molecules will last on different skins - as in some will last long on mine, but not on yours and vice versa - or is the main difference say my skin vs others? Fascinating video - the first bit of course as good as yours always are, but the latter aspect, and the comparisons in general really did add a new level, and some education. Alas I never have samples of the fragrances you are trying, but I do tend to be inspired by your videos to smell any bottles of essential oils I have to hand, just trying to smell what different things smell like. Today was sandalwood oil (Santalum Album - very different in smell from my other sandalwood oil, which I think is Amyris Balsamifera). Definitely keep making videos!
