Feels like there is some significance on the symbolism of perfume. It had iteration in the passages of the bible where the woman wept and poured the perfume to her hair to wipe the feet of jesus, heck I could even connect this to a movie where a man murders several women so that he could collect their essence and make a perfect perfume. Idk but it seems to relate of some sort of value and femininity.

one of the subtle yet unsettling detail is how 1:42 is being recorded through another screen then it cuts off to a reaction where its recorded live. a subtle detail but quite the art i'd say.

Whoever the people behind this project were, they were way the heck ahead of their time, and I would love to see some weird Jack Stauber-ish shit on Adult Swim made by these people lmao. I hope they're doing well.

I'm a big Jack Stauber fan and I'd definitely say this has similar vibes, but not just because it's lo-fi. There's also the very odd disjointed singing, and the disturbing/unnerving undertones. This is crazy it feels like a fever dream I had when I was 8 years old

After watching this 3 times I realized what this is about. It is a colllege film that shows how people can be not careful for example when the building collapsed (which could have killed them) they instead payed attention to more perfume. And the man in the back (presumably a dangerous person) who has a wide mouth could hurt/kill them but the 2 girls STILL worry about perfume. Once you understand this it is actually quite comforting.

I'd hardly call this weirdcore. The closest it comes to it is being surreal with grain over the video. You could easily fit the song into a weirdcore animation or something, but to call this weirdcore feels like diluting it to an internet aesthetic even though it was made almost 40 years before the creation of the term (oh that being said I mean no ill will toward you, I just find it personally annoying when people dilute the things I like to a simple aesthetic.
