1998 in Copenhagen a friend mentions his moms worked at a place called People's Theatre & we could go see some Catalan play or something. Ok. I had zero (0.0) idea about La Fura Dels Baus. Any description was in Catalan or Danish. Ready for a play or what not, it really blew my mind. Seating? Nope. Spitting milk in the performance from 10ft above ? That happened. They kept pushing the crowd back with a rolling 2m x 2m bank of lights. I got corn starch on me, smoked a joint and this thing was just getting started. Out of the darkness, a procession carrying something wrapped in rags & setting them down and walking away. These started moving in place, as if they were newborn infants. Wtf? No time to know, pushed back to make space for next scene. I think my worldview was permanently altered from this day forward? Another dimension observed from another perspective. These people are crazy + talented and the whole equals more than the sum of it's parts. Hung out with them after, drank some vodka, they cooler than a polar bear's toenails. oh hell yeas.
