Perfect your method for flocks of flying birds.
Flocks of birds in motion can be one of the most awe-inspiring things in nature. But how best to capture these large groups of birds in flight. In this video I show you how I do it whilst showing you my recent photos of thousands of wading birds / shore birds. These same techniques can be used for starling murmurations and pink-footed geese flying in V-formation.

Thank you very much Raymond, much appreciated.
Beautiful video Scott, and really interesting. I love flocks of birds, mostly when they escape from a predator, like the peregrin falcon. And your photos are always beautiful! Take care!

Thanks Giuseppe. Sometimes I see birds of prey chasing these flocks, but they really seem to catch one. There's strength in the numbers of the flock, I guess. Thanks for watching.
Wow, loved that thanks Scott for all the pointers always a pleasure to watch your videos and to see the photographs, fab.

Hi Scott. Thanks very much. It's genuinely awe-inspiring to see that many birds in the sky. The hope is that the photos do it some kind of justice. Thanks for watching.
Thanks! With even longer shutterspeeds at low light, you can create lines in the image.

Thanks for watching.
I went in April. One of my best birding experiences to date. I used my 200-500 and got a variety of compositions and some nice shots. As a bonus, I hung around after the waders had gone back out and got my first photos of a barn owl a little bit further on the reserve. Planning on going back in Winter to see the geese. Nice video, cheers👍🏻
