Thank you for your comment! I completely agree with you, Larry does a fantastic job explaining products in his reviews. Speaking of portable power on-the-go, have you heard of the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series? It's a versatile powerhouse with a massive capacity of up to 5kWh, quick recharge time, and a waterproof design, making it perfect for outdoor adventures. Check it out, it might be a great addition to your camping gear!

A handy bit of information! Never let a power station sit in direct sunlight while charging, it can damage it.

Good to hide it in the shade behind the solar panel. Also, if you plug something into the USB-A or USB-C outlet on the back of the solar panel, it can get a little toasty in that pouch. I would use a short USB extension cable to allow the item to be placed elsewhere than inside the pouch.

The reason why I don't get too specific about prices is that these reviews can stay up for years and the price will have changed over time. Right now this unit is going for $299 on their website. The Solar Saga 100 solar panel is also going for $299. Hope this helps.

I have several Halo Bolt jump starters. They work great for starting a vehicle that has a dead battery. Unlike most portable jump starters, the Halo Bolt (most models, not all) includes an AC outlet for powering a fan, lamp, or other low-power devices.

Sounds like you only used charging for a short period of time. I have the same unit and if you have something plugged in for some period of time, a fan comes on. Not dead quiet as declared. I could hear it kick on from another room. The larger units have an even more powerful and noisy fan.

Larry.. help want to make best decision.. need power station for possible power outages we are in SC . We need to get a power station and solar panels .. A big concern is for us to keep our garaged upright freezer and our refrigerator which is in our kitchen. Of course to have it assist perhaps with an electric heater should power go out in chilly weather . We need something two senior citizens can manage and it must be free to run . No fuel. We understand we would need to get a larger support system to do this…

  • @larryware1

I would go with at least a 2,000 watt unit. That's a large demand for a battery powered station. Heaters take a lot of power. I use a gas generator for large demands. Most electric heaters use around 1300 watts so even a 2,000 watt power station would only run that for about 1 1/2 hours. The refrigerator and freezer would run for about 2 days from a 2,000 watt unit.
