Just Kudos to Digital John. He's doing great. I'm glad you brought him on the show. He adds a lot value to your videos on these more complex multi-fx units.

I love seeing Digital John paired with Pete. A little constructive criticism for The Captain, imstead of whining about the differences between analog and digital, like the Captain does, Pete goes with the flow and seems more interested in letting John guide him through the features and capabilities of the unit! John's videos with Lee are informative for players more accustomef to separate pedals but it feels like Lee is being led, kicking and screaming, to his digital doom! It's a nice change of pace to see how to use a digital miltieffects unit without having to tip one's hat to a pedalboard and pedals. Honestly I've been a tiny bit miffed with the Captain since the blindfold combo challenge where Lee picked the Blues Cube as jis favorite but he never kept one and lived with it for any reasonable length of time. I think that he would have been much more comfortable with digital gear if he would have just taken the plunge and used a blues cube as his combo of choice for, at least, a year!

Well Digital John is definitely stoned most of the time. It's pretty obvious. I also have noticed on certain days Pete is sniffling a little more then usual, he's also quite peppy, he's got a zing, a certain bounce to himself if you will..... And i also know how popular a certain "candy" can be for eroupean dudes. Especially euro dudes from The Netherlands and Denmark lol. **These are just observations, inglorious observations with zero weight, and none judgment whatsoever, that are more likely wrong then correct (Although id put money on John being a pothead)**

I’ve got the regular GP-200 and I’m very happy with it. As a beginner it’s a great way to try a load of effects without breaking the bank, plus it’s got the tuner and metronome/drums built in too (albeit the drums are pretty basic). The only downside I’ve found so far that was mentioned in the video is that you can only have one pedal in each category which can be limiting as for example the fuzz pedals are in the same grouping as the distortion pedals so if you want both you’re kinda out of luck (although you do have the option to plug actual pedals into it’s effects loop which gets around it). It’s got a good PC app too so if you want a touchscreen and your laptop has a touchscreen, just connect the 2 up with a USB cable and you’re away

One of these, a basic guitar and a pair of headphones has to be Junior's ideal first guitar rig. You have the headphones so the parents are not driven nuts by all the noise of a beginner messing up songs or playing the same songs time and again along with loads of effects and later on it could be plugged into an amp or a PA if they ever got to playing in a band.

Thank you for the presentation! It looks interesting. Can you copy your whole preset library directly to another unit for redundancy? I am thinking about using this as an effect board for gigs, but if the unit would fail, it is important for me to have a backup. The size would be perfect for that, but if I have to edit every patch 2 times that would be very time consuming.

Jesus- that sounds so good man. A friend gave me a Line 6 Flex 3 to play on a demo he was making- he didn't have to give me anything, I think it was just in his way- anyway- it sux. They nailed the clean tones- they sound better than my tube amp- but the distortion is so bad, it truly makes you wonder why they would release something like that. If that was the best I could do, I would wait until I could do better before releasing anything- because that's what made ppl hate digital modeling. Ppl like me- I'm in my 50s- our first taste of digital modeling was that it was horribly bad- no good. And many of us just wrote it off back then and will never give it another chance. Which is a shame because they've fixed all that now- it sounds great. I've stopped buying pedals , amps, guitars, etc.- saving money for a good modeler now. The Valeton stuff is tempting though- it sounds damned good, it's easy to use, and it's affordable. Tbh I think I would spend more on the speakers than the unit if go with a Valeton. Having a good set of FRFR speakers- or a good cab, I would imagine makes a world of difference in how it sounds in the end. That's something I always try to remember when they demo a unit at Andertons- they're going to have access to the best speakers available and I'm sure they use them.

For home or studio speakers, it makes sense to use any stereo or home theater amp and speakers plus a subwoofer. It's a very inexpensive way to get full range frequency response with tons of headroom for the multi-FX pedal to drive.

At this price point, for 50 pounds more I'd prefer the GP200 with 8 stomp buttons instead of 3. There are some things not to like, such as the lackluster bundled IRs and inability to make parallel paths that the more expensive competitors do. The 44.1 kHz sampling rate could be problematic in certain cases, such as trying to make your own IR with software that expects 48 kHz sampling rate. But it's still a very nice multi-FX pedal with 11 blocks that can be used simultaneously. To mitigate poor amp/cab emulation, you can turn off the amp + cabinet emulation and use a valve amp and a real cab.

85*3 is 255. Hardware is probably limited to 256 patches (a power of 2 - no coincidence) hence 85 banks not 99

Okay, here’s the dilemma, I’ve got loads of decent pedals I love & nice valve amps. Then because of my Arthritis and because am not as young as once was, got the Fender GTX 50 which is great. But I look at this little unit from Valeton & can see the appeal and applications of it as an option should I wish to plug into my old Wem or maybe even my valve powered Marshall on days where my hip and back are not playing up and getting a plethora of additional setup options. But the reality is I don’t really need it for my guitar setup, even with the additional options it would undoubtedly give. Tbh, if the Valeton could have the additional flexibility to use as Bass multi-FX then would have no excuses to not get one. As I think that is in reality what is really missing from my setup. So my question is, is this unit any use to Bass Players?

After consulting my electronic abacus, 85x3=255 Makes sense that it's 85 then since 255 is generally a good number for binary programing. Don't ask me why... I don't know.

    a byte is 8 bits. a bit is either 0 or 1. and right to left it goes 128 64 32 16 8 4 2 1 in value. So one byte that's 8 bits of 11111111 = 255. That's why it's good for binary programming. :)

Great pedal but the GP 200 is only 50 bucks more. I bought the GP200, if the jr was 250 or below it would sell more. it would be nice to be able to tell what the buttons are when they're not lit. After some time you'll memorize them but it's definitely a mistake to not have them lit all the time, just change the color when they're activated.

Bro, over here where it is designed and manufactured, we can get a new GP200 under 208 dollars(not from official sale). And the LT version can only costs less. It's the best budget multieffects unit in the market, surpassing the mooer GE 200 by so much.

For me that bigger screen and more foot switches is definitely worth the extra cost. Each bank has 4 patches with a dedicated foot switch for each patch (or to turn on/off 4 fx blocks within 1 patch)

Digital is the future! Don’t get me wrong, I love my tubes and pedals… But digital has got sooooooooo good in recent years. I’ll be honest, I barely use my tube amps anymore. I’m a youngster though so maybe that’s why it was so easy to make the switch, I’m only 30 lol. Sorry boomers(jk), digital is where it’s at now! I want to get this neat thing!
