Substitute raisins w/chopped candied orange peel or cherries, or dried pineapple? Use lightly toasted almonds, or peanuts, or hazelnuts, even macadamia nuts. Have to find those wafers, maybe a latino market store?

I've never seen them either. Puerto Rico Guess ill do Maria, sugar free cookies. Then cut them in half. They will look like half moons. Like you said... other dried fruit (don't like raisins too much) Chopped nuts on top. Gues there's a bunch of stuff to tweak this up! ✌

I 'm not that fond of raisins, so I think I would substitute finely chopped apricots, but I love this idea. Don't think I've seen wafer cookies though.
