Of all the movie's errors, the bastardization of Hades is the worst. Hades is arguably one of the better god in both greek mythology and the book series.

I actually liked that movie as a kid, I never read the book so I couldn't argue with anyone. It was just a fun adventure to me.

I will never understand people getting mad over book to movie adaptations like it's the first adaptations of the books so you have to come to them with open minds books are for if you more of story in dept to the T.

I never read the books and always thought the Fox movies were more or less a precise adaptation of the former. Only after watching the much superior Disney+ adaptation do I fully realize this movie feels like an unfunny SNL skit that just simply makes up stuff as it goes along just to appeal to older viewers. 😅

I’ve recently watched a lot of people who have read the books reacting to the films, and even when they have a huge amount of criticisms, the one element in the films that seems to receive universal praise from them is the design of Riptide (Percy’s sword).

To refresh Audrey’s memory, Percy fights a Chimera in the books, not a Hydra. But I had a big pet peeve about the Hydra scene because what actually made the middle head special was that it would still be alive after you chopped it off, not that it could breathe fire.

As much as I hate this movie it was the reason I went to read the books (I was so upset there was no movie 3 with Hades children) Still my most hated thing is the treatment of Hades. They just copied Disney with all this Hades slender, Gods 😤

I mean they should put some scenes here or there that is not in the book or else it would be boring for the ones who already read the books. As long as they don't really stray too much from the original plot its okay.

I LIGHTLY WATCHED THAT LIKE A WEEK AGO FOR THE FIRST TIME! Personally I think the book is better. I don’t know your wife’s name I agree with her I got so bored at the beginning and thought it sucked.

When I first saw the movie in 2013 (I happened to see it on TV a few days before Sea of Monsters released), I thought it was pretty good, and it interested me enough to start reading the books. In hindsight, it's not a good movie even ignoring the fact it's a terrible adaptation. I disliked the Sea of Monsters movie even on release day.

To think I was more bothered by Tara having to constantly point out the errors. Gees, cope harder. We get it!
