If you're asking if him sending Medusa's head to Olympus was in the book, it was. The Hermes part isn't since the book is in Percy's pov, but him sending it is.

Medusa's head is like a live grenade. Sure it's a great weapon, but if it falls out of the box, or they lose it, they could easily end up killing innocent people, not just themselves. As for Mr. D and Chiron withholding the whereabouts of Percy's mom, it's pretty simple - they want him focused on saving the world, not his mother. He could very well be forced to choose.

True! I get that, but I guess it seems like they'd want him to at least be motivated to go to Hades, and knowing his mom is there is the way to get him motivated to go. While he's there [knowing he's generally a "Hero-type"] he'd do the right thing. But you're right, I wouldn't have gone thar route, but I see the reasoning behind it.

I´m really enjoying your reactions! Your different opinions on some topics (as some one who knows more about the PJO world and some one who is new to it) are very entertaining! Can´t wait for more. On Percy-Annabeth-chemistry (light spoiler for Ep 4+5: I really hate their first meeting in the movie and the instant sexual chemistry. I wasn´t that sure about Annabeth and Percys chemistry in the show either at the beginning, but starting with the next episode you see their connection growing and Ep. 5 has a really great scene with fantastic chemistry between them (one of the best in the series in general imo). It´s a little bit confusing at first because they made Annabeth more distant in the show, but in the end i think it makes for a good development of her characater and her relationship with Percy through the series. One think i would criticise about the show is the lack of fun, laughing etc. moments between the trio. Because of the short time per episode they needed to keep thinks moving forward and i think that is missing. Just seeing them being kids, playing something etc.

Totally agree! We appreciate the comment. I was thinking the same about Percy and Annabeth and YEAH that movie had them ready to hump each other's leg RIGHT off the jump. It was jarring. So, yeah going the other way was initially weird, but I know what they're building and I like this way better! 😁
