before this ep dropped people were talking about wanting pokerface and the author said if anyone thinks he would reference the movies then they havent been paying attention and that we should normalise bad movie erasure 🤣🤣🤣 he hatesssss them

The book version is very different from both, the flower doesn't exist in the books, but they never explain that it was pumped in the air. And in the books instead of Hermes in the cassino, Annabeth use a infinite money card from the hotel to buy A FUCKING TAXI, the problem with the book version is that at that point just like here they were being chased by the POLICE, so I like the Hermes car version, makes more sense.

Why can't a girl lead the group.. Also her mother is the Goddess of war and strategy so it makes sense

@arianasmart2911 Yes, of course they did. Look at it this way - most people love Percy's character. They love his powers, his personality, how badass he is. Generally, basically everyone likes him more than Annabeth. The more liked a character is, the more control people want them to have so that everything can be shaped around that characters personality.

Nathan is right about casinos in Las Vegas btw. I went there when I was a kid and you literally have to go through casinos to get to shows that kids are allowed to participate in. Also some Casinos even have roller coasters and arcades for kids. Kids are allowed to be inside most of the casinos, they just are not allowed to play any of the casino games.

They don't explain this in the show, but in the books Gabe (the step-dad) smells so repulsively human that living with masked Percy's badass demigod smell, so whenever monsters came near him or their apartment, they just smelled overwhelming deadbeat human.

Yeah, in the books Gabe was physically abusive to both Percy and sally. There’s a quote that Percy says that goes along the lines of “he called it our guy secret, which means that if I told my mom he would punch my lights out”

Basically Zeus forbade the gods from having contact with their children - i think i remember seeing somewhere that when Percy was born Poseidon got so distracted from his duties that for that reason Zeus made the rule (i don't remember the specifics). In terms of Gabe, I dunno if it's really spoilers since I don't think they describe it in the series but basically the reason why Sally was with the stepdad was because his mortal stench was so strong that it kept monsters at bay and masked the scent of a child of the Big Three Gods - Percy

If I had to talk about it its bc these r greek gods that we r talking about and how they usually r and how they behave or how they depicted in their own stories. Gods who can be greedy, prideful and in need of a glory. Gods who lived centuries and still behaved how they always do aka backstabbing eo, using demigods as a form of tool since they need them to do the job for the gods (the quests and all other things they r created for). Even what Chiron mentioned in the 2nd episode how demigods can do things that gods r forbidden to do. Thats how it usually was described in the greek mythology (a great example is Hercules himself who's also a demigod who alsod did all these heroic quests). Its hardly happens for love. Yes, they r shtty parents and that had to be changed which ofc not something that can happen easily. But also part of it can also be the fact that they cant be there for their children every moment (i mean they r gods after all and its not the same as being a mortal parent) and their presence on earlier stage of their children lives can damage them more than help bc they do attract negative attention as well(so in this case perhaps when the kid is ready for it or smthing). Honestly its complex, I can go on like this forever.

@@Maria-jq3mb thank you so much for your explanation! Alot of it does make sense to me and it's definitely a very complex concept but I do agree that the presence of the gods in their children's lives would definitely attract more attention to their kids as an outcome.

Annabeth is a very cool character. She is a natural born leader but has a big pride problem that comes up later in the books. Shes a great person to turn to but tends to try to take over. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesnt but she learns. Its ok for us to get frustrated with a charcter but still support them overall. Shes one of those characters if that helps

I really liked this episode! I do think it was too short and they would benefit from more 20 minutes to develop the casino situation, but I also think they did a good job with the time they had. Also, I think the actors are more comfortable with their characters and the pacing of the episode was good. This is the best Percy vibe so far by Walker and the writing.

She's the most equipped to be the leader lol

Hadies STOP thinging of the Hercules Hades of any video game Hades Thats a different aspect of the character. NOT all villians look like villians Children murderers dont look threatening but they still are. Elba would make an outstanding Zeus

Why does everyone think Hades has to be scary, even in the myths he’s on of the most chill Gods. I mean all the Gods are kinda dicks, and can/will kill you without cause. I think Hephaestus, God of Fire and Forge should be more intimating the God organizing the afterlife. It’s like everyone thinks Hades is equal to the Devil and the Underworld is Hell. But that’s just not true. Ugh.

The reason you two guys didn't know who Clarisse was is because you talk to much during the show. You probably don't know who Iris is as well since you were talking during that scene. The reason Sally was with Gabe is because of his odour since his odour hid Percy's half blood smell from the monsters.

Somewhere, in some mythology, you will find a god for almost anything.

You have seen four gods so far in this show. In order, Dionysus, Ares, Hephaestus, and Hermes.

The being who greats Percy in the underwater scene is a Nereid, very old ocean spirits and high ranking members of Poseidon's court.

They don't explain in the show, but the mother dates the stepdad to protect Percy. Monsters fins demigods thank to their smell. The stepdad smells so much cause of drinks and bad hygiene I suppose that it hides Percy's smell.

Hermes main domains are thieves, messengers, travelers, and roadways. There are many minor things he also rules over.

So sally got with gabe because apparently his stink and small covered up Percy's demigod scent from the monsters so that's why sall stayed with him

Bruh, Iron Man is extremely cocky lol He’s cocky in the MCU, he’s cocky in the cartoons, he’s cocky in the games, and he’s 💯 percent for sure cocky as hell in the comics. There is no version of Iron Man that’s NOT Cocky. But anyway, RDJ wouldn’t do the role of Zeus, but yeah someone like Idris Elba could be pull it off. He has the acting skills/qualities to make that happen like c’mon now. Besides, the gods have the ability to shake shift into any human they see fit. The human forms they have are not even their true forms. It’s perceived for them to appear human to the human eye, and to the audience, but in general they are gods and they don’t look the way they do on the inside. Also, I think Gerard Butler would make a good Hades.

Robert Downey Jr. is to humorous to play Zeus I think? Zeus has a very short temper and a terrible sense of humor and kind of lords about. RDJ might be too relaxed? He absolutely has a presence, just not the Zeus presence. More like Apollo actually, but he is way too old to play Apollo. But yeah Iron Man is extremely extremely cocky.

Not necessarily, when Percy brings the bolt back in the movie. He says that Luke was the one that took the bolt and there is a split second shot of Hermes. And that's it. And it was a different actor than Nathan

@@maggiebulloch9536 oh yea when he met his dad. i didn’t really take that in because they didn’t really communicate with him. it kind of reminds me of in the animated Hercules when they’re in Olympus and they show the gods but don’t interact with them.
