Passive coaching creates passive players. Im really missing the fire, energy, and effort from the past gopher teams. It’s just sad to watch MN slowly keep dropping, especially with all the talent they have on their roster. Hey Hugh, this forced fast offense, especially with Shaffmaster running it... clearly isn’t working. Also, our tip coverage strategy is not working!!!! It hasn’t worked in over 10 years!!! You’d think there would be some sort of change, but like I said, passive coaching. Wouldn’t be surprised if Washington State beats down MN on Saturday too. It’s just so frustrating to watch🙁Kudos to Pepperdine, they didn’t even have to try to break down MN since their weaknesses are so glaring. (On the flip side, Mckenna’s outing was promising, she’s amazing!!)

I've only seen highlights from the setter he brought in from Canada but why not throw her in and see what she can do?! Even if it's just for a few rotations while Hugh talks to Shaff on the sideline. Maybe can be a spark or something. But never switching Shaff out...I don't understand that. Minn is one of my fave teams. I absolutely agree with you on tip coverage!

@@jwil8577 It’s frustrating for sure. We have three other setters on the bench and I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if none of them actually see the court this season in the actual setting position. So much of the offense relies on the passing and defense which the team has struggled with over the past couple of seasons. But even on perfect passes or digs, Shaffmaster still cant set it. Hugh has put all of his stock into her, and he wont change that, period. Like I said, he’s a passive coach. That mellowness and inability to make in game adjustments is effecting the players. Sometimes that “its okay, lets get the next point. No smiles, no emotion” mentality isn’t gonna cut it. We need some fire and emotional leaders to step it up.
