He brought it to the shore and would *_not_* get into the car to go Home without it. Then wouldn't leave the car without it. He brought it inside and tucked it away under the dining room table. Every night, he brought it in to the bedroom to sleep & put it back under the table every morning. He had Progressive Retinal Atrophy so he couldn't see very well in certain light conditions, which consequently would make him.... _a bit cranky in unfamiliar surroundings_ -- like the vet's. For several years, we'd wait in the car for our appointment & come in through the side entrance. Or just have our appointment on the tailgate. But once -- _as a joke_ -- i brought his rock along, and he was _so_ good & *chill,* that after that, i always brought it with him. Never had a problem again! When he died, we started to bury the rock with him, but we decided it was a way of keeping him with us. The weird thing is, 30+ years later, dogs i have now -- that have no connection to him in anyway -- _love_ that rock. I mean, i had a cat that would come when i whistled & he taught the other cats to do that, & cats have overlapped -- each ones passing it on and, in the 40+ years since him, all my cats come when i whistle. But with the dogs, there's no overlap. I had it in a place of pride in my garden. My deerhounds would jump two fences [okay: the fences were only 32" high so the hounds would really just _step_ over them] & bring the rock to their kennel for the day. I'd put it back when i got Home from work. _Every day._ I've had other deerhounds, Irish setters, Aussies & a border collie. They _all_ eventually find the rock & bring it to me like they have found _the _*_best_*_ thing in all the world._ [And, yes, i'm sure it's a rock & not some "petrified bone" because that's been suggested before.]

That isn't true; you don't seem to know what "hypocrisy" means. The church believes, as per Jesus's statement in the Bible, "The poor will always be with you". There is no cure for that plague, & even though the Church does a massive amount to help the poor,, they are best helped by learning to turn to God for the strength & inspiration to cope with what befalls them in life. Likewise God is to be honored with the very best mankind has to offer. Where on earth did you get the idea that the primary function of the Church is to pass out relief to the poor? Probably inferred from the huge amount of aid they DO give. It is nuts how ill informed non religious people are about Church doctrine though. . I'm pretty sure you have a fancy handheld machine to entertain yourself with (maybe other luxuries too!) yet there are tens of millions of miserable slaves in the world right now, God only knows how many starving, dextitute people. What are your efforts & sacrifices to help them? There are hundreds of organizations online if your interested in helping with your disposable income. Another Bible quote: Judge not, lest ye be judged. As if any human could refrain!
