If Dundas Castle is abandoned why is there a satellite dish mounted on the outside?

I made the same comment (before scrolling down) a month after you. I thought the satellite dish was odd so I went to my "go-to" site, Wikipedia and found that Dundas Castle is still in use as a summer camp for city kids.

I don’t know why they call it a castle. It’s just a big mansion to me. When I think castle I think real towers and keep from the castle era. Even in France they are building a REAL castle the old ways. I would call that a castle even though it’s built in today’s era.

People should wear face masks when entering abandoned buildings, due to the growth of mold.

I’d totally live in an abandoned city all to myself, as long as there is fishing and a few cows around

Shanzi in Taiwan, the video actually shows pod houses in Wanli. Different location. No accidents. They were poorly designed, and too hot for the summers

#14 I grew up in that part of New York when I was a kid it was off-limits to visitors you could actually be arrested if you were caught on the island

Don’t like castles, too cold, too many hidden passages ways , too many dungeons, too many mazes and finally maybe I watch too much tv 😂

The ones I've been in all had only a couple rooms, and the only secret tunnels, were escale hatches incase of invaders. Sure, some are huge, but most castles through history were closer in size to a lighthouse. Palaces are the ones that were historically more elaborate and larger, they were built for opulance, smuggling mistresses, servents hallways, etc where a castle is built for defence

You omitted from the account about Pripyat that some Russian soldiers stayed in that town for several days last year. Even dug trenches, & occupied them. No word how those soldiers are doing now.

I *love* abandoned places! I’m glad all the people are gone. Blissful silence! Filthy, polluting, noisy humans! Gone! Beautiful.

I grew up in a place called Crystal palace in a burb of London. Nothing is left of the crystal palace but the grounds it was on. I played there a hell of a lot and had several paranormal experiences there. Also the Chislehurst caves which are very haunted. They used to offer a money award for anyone who could stay there the night. Noone ever won it.

I got married in the church still standing in Bodie, California. It's not creepy at all, it's a place of great interest for photographers, and the story behind it is much richer than is told is this video.

Dundas castle is now known as Camp Eureka, set up as a retreat for inner city youth.

*That waterfall at the haunted hotel is spectacular and I'd stay there if it were in operation! I'm up for checking out haunted places, with others and proper equipment....not alone; that's just foolhardy.*

I dream about a castle and each time I get to explore more and more but there is a handsome man that is in his dungaree pants and he is got short dark curly hair is standing by a massive fire place with his arm up on and you could literally pretty much stand in a fireplace and it is so wide for some reason I feel connected to it

Dundas Castle would be a really gret bug-out location in the event of a SHTF situation.

That means north of New York City. Referring to a place north of another place as being "above" is a fairly common expression.

My theory is that those places are creepy because of what went on when they were in operation and some people say they feel creepy because they feel like they are being watched by the spirit's of the people who died there. But they only feel like it. But some of them are just condemned and are dangerous to the people who drespass and spray grefeedy and steal things. The building or buildings are watching them.

@@seanrosenau2088 Cosmoline is a grease used as packing oil used by the Russian military and contractors as a rust preventative. For example when you get a Mosin Nagant rifle out of the original crate it was completely covered in it to prevent corrosion.

Building castles and such outside of their "Time period" are known in Britain as "folly's" so no confusion as to the construction, Some are quite nice, A tower to remember a land owner erected by his family on their land but "hated" by the community for being a family of bullies

Earlier in the video the narrator says that others wrote the words that he speaks. Well, he needs to find better writers. During the part about the dome homes, he says, "and him and his family had to leave…". Really? "Him" had to leave, huh? Jeesh.

I know abt Pripyet, Ukraine (I think I spelt it wrong 😅) From seeing a Sam and Colby video of them staring there for like 3 or 4 days, I don't remember. I also learned that it was the YONGEST town at only 7 years old, before it had the Nuclear reaction explosion. If you go there now there is still ALOT of radiation in the town. And when I mean ALOT I mean ALOT of radiation. I've never been there before because my father doesn't want my to leave the United States until I'm 18. (I'm not saying my age to you guys.)
