It’s hypocritical to diminish someone’s value because of what their job is when your job is less beneficial to anyone but are paid more. He ended his deal with Fox because they couldn’t agree on an extension. But “ it’s basketball”. Like what he does is brain surgery.

She is only 22 is not using her degree if she even got one? And is making more than most families make for playing a game 5 months s year and produces nothing beneficial to society except fir low level entertainment. On top of that she is guaranteed yearly raises which most are not plus gets an apartment and a car meals transportation and medical care. Cannot think of many jobs that give you a place to live a car immediate on site snd off site medical attention fir any even minor injuries. They play half as many games as the men play “less minutes per game snd this is like teachers complaint about what they make although they only with 9 months a year and get holidays snd breaks off. Clark only had to go to work if you call it that less than6 months per year. Which means she can do whatever she wants the rest of the year snd like others if she needs it can go get another job. Some of these women can double their pay by going overseas and playing in those leagues so not s bad life for playing a meaningless game.

MJ made a very small portion from the nba compared to what the nba made off his talent. I agree that Cc should be compensated more but don’t act like this is new, it the business and it’s been going on for years w/ little complaints from nba players & fans, women included. With all the money that the wnba will make in year or even the next four years (Cc’ contract) it’ll be nowhere near what the nba brings in during that same time. But yes, wnba and specifically the city of Indianapolis will make tons of money the next year and hopefully longer.

The NBA started in 1946(BAA) and 25 years later the average NBA salary was: $35k. Which is about $224k in today's money. But, starting in 1959 the Boston Celtics made the NBA a staple. The Celtics Won 8 straight Championships from '59-'67. And, stars like Wilt, Bill Russell, Bob Cousy, Pistol Pete etc. drew crowds, filled arenas and people bought merchandise. 25 years after the WNBA started the average salary is: $113k. The WNBA has NO dynasty team and NO players that can draw a crowd, fill arenas or buy merchandise. The NBA made $32mil a year as a League 25yrs after inception. Which is about $244mil in today's money. The WNBA after 25yrs in existence makes about $60mil a year as a league. So, 1970 NBA made $244mil in today's money and the WNBA makes $60mil in today's money that's a difference of $184 million dollars! Women Do Not support what they B*tched about not having. They got what they wanted and now Refuse to support it. Then go on TV and say that it's somehow Men's fault. Sorry but, the WNBA SUUUUUCKS. I'd rather watch a Boys MIDDLE school basketball game and Pay for it than watch Game 7 of the WNBA Championship💯 The NBA needs to stop Subsidizing the WNBA and let the Free Market decide it's Future and Worth 💯💯

The women's baskefball championship had better ratings than any of the WNBA finals. When Megan Rapinoe and others demanded an equal pay grade fke the USWNT, and got it, it shows that equal is not at all equal. The NWSL, women's professional soccer play, the games are held at maybe a division 2 stadium. That stadium is not even half full, yet a network covers it in order to be fair. Who won the last NWSL championship? The WNBA championship? When all things are equal, no one will complain.

Do the math: WNBA's revenue grew ~233% in 2023, from $60m in 2022 to $200m in 2023. And before you think it, viewership is up 36% and attendance is up and 16%. But player's share of the revenue in the WNBA went down 9.3% from 2022 to 2019

TBH, I’m shocked the overall number one pick of the WNBA draft, who set the record for most points scored in women’s college basketball history, who led her perennially subpar Iowa team to back-to-back National Championships (even though Iowa lost both), and turned women’s college hoops into “must see TV” across the US for the first time ever, this woman is only making $76,000 for her rookie season in the WNBA? Is the WNBA THAT unpopular that it can’t award any decent contracts that pay the player what she’s ACTUALLY worth? And I know CC will have other income doing all kinds of endorsements for major companies, if she’s even half as good as she’s been in college. So CC will be just fine financially. But to me, the majority of a WNBA player’s income should come from the bloody WNBA. That salary for CC is appallingly low and way beneath her actual worth. Heck, had I known this, if I was CC, I would’ve met with Ice Cube and had serious discussions about whether he thinks his new league (“3 on 3”) would be able to give her a better contract than the WNBA. Now I get that CC has yet to play in the WNBA and is, therefore, unproven as to what she will do at the next level. And I understand why it’s foolish for a pro sports team to hand out an enormous contract to someone who has yet to set foot in a WNBA game, even if that player had the most incredible women’s college basketball career and captivated the nation like no other women’s college athlete has ever done. There’s still no guarantee CC is going to be an immediate star in the WNBA, if she’s EVER a star in the WNBA. But $76,000 for CCs rookie season? And an average of only about $83,000 per season for her second, third, and fourth seasons😮. Absolutely insulting!
