I'm very thankful for organizations and government groups that *actually* respond to calls for help, such as the calls of these people. I hope flood victims and these people's families are kept safe. Edit: For clarification I am referring to groups similar to FEMA, Russia doesn't necessarily have an analog I'm familiar with, but this makes me feel very grateful.

(State socialism would have come to the aid of the people, as would communism) Totalitarianism is what Trump and the Religious Right want America to be like (Authoritarian Theocracy similar to Iran & North Korea). Every country of the world has some form of socialism. It's like the tone control on your car radio, some use it, most don't know what it is used for, and others decide if they like it dialed into the right or left. Totalitarianism is the tone control dialed into the far right. It's not even Communism. It's closer to Fascism. It's an Authoritarian dictatorship.
