Kirsty and Avi really shine in this song.

For all those people out there that think Pentatonix uses auto tune and whatnot, this should kill that particular debate. That said, these people right here are one of the most talented groups in a good while. Acapella is not the easiest form od music medium because there's nowhere to hide and very few groups have managed to pull it off ( Take 6 comes to mind). This rendition brought tears to my eyes and they all looked like they were pretty close to tears too

***** PTX have released many, many live videos. It's impossible to autotune live recordings when everyone is singing together into the same microphone. Just look at their older videos.

Watch how Avi waits for his part and watches how everyone sings... with his eyes closed. Then he comes in like a wrecking ball. I love how they all close their eyes for a minute and belt out. This group is truly incredible.

It wasn't just a random ad-lib tho, harmonically speaking they couldn't end on just the previous chord, which was the dominant. It was only natural for him to resolve back to the tonic. Idk why everyone else didn't join to complete the cadence, I would've preferred it that way. But it was probably planned, cuz the music would have ended unsettled without at least the resolution in Avi's part.

Even before Avi begins his part, you can see in his face how much he appreciates the music💕

Incredible version, and perfect venue to sing it. Avi is feeling the trio so deep before joining in. Kirstin's soaking into the boys harmonies in the end, and Scott couldn't stop glancing at Avi...it's nice to seem them enjoying each other's parts for once. And Avi ! Had Goosebumps everywhere by the time he was on. What a voice. Powerful when needed, soathing and simply beautiful all the time. Oh I miss him so much. Ptx don't sound the same without him.

Angels are descending from the heavens. Beautiful. Hallelujah !

Still watching in August 2020, I do get what you're saying. Although I adore Matt and Avi I don't prefer one over the other, I'm very sad Avi is no longer part of PTX. Avi looks so peaceful and happy. He enjoys it so much more than the others.

My vocal goal is to not only *be* as deep as Avril, but to also be as tonal as him. Sure, he may not sing the *very* deepest notes. But I'll be damned if he's not the most tonal. He's got the voice, and hair, of the gods.

My late boyfriend used to listen to this son and just bawl because it's such a beautiful song and his mother sang it to him when he was a child. I don't think he ever heard this version, but I listen to it often and cry for him. They harmonize like no other. This is an utterly gorgeous rendition.

I'm so amazed at this song. The balance that Mitch, Scott, and Kirstie has been perfected and is so unified, its unbelievable. And too have Kevin and Avi's talent as well adds so much depth to it. This song is so soothing and calming and I can't find myself listening to enough of it.

Avi's upper range is so beautiful.

Pause at 1:59 , and look at each of them. Kirsty looks like she's sound asleep. Mitch looks like he's crying his eyes out over something. Scott looks like he's staring at a plate full of his favorite food. Kevin looks like he's meditating. Avi looks like he's trying to get his point across in an irritated way. I think the hunger games was a garbage movie, and those fire effects sucked, and maybe it would have been enjoyable with these deities backing it up, but maybe those fire effects still really, really suck.

bldwldr The first movie wasn't all that great, and yeah I agree the special effects could have used some work because that fire was pretty low quality, but Catching Fire and Mockingjay have a new director and their budget is higher. They follow the book more closely and are 10x better than the first movie(: Honestly though the 1st movie was pretty terrible and was a bad representation of The Hungers Games :(

+Erin Johnson Your choir teacher knows nothing of music. They are currently the most successful a cappella group in the US. I know of no other a cappella group who's been as successful & mainstream as Pentatonix has been. This performance is incredible. The acoustics cannot be beat. Even though I don't attend church, this video demonstrates exactly why I love the acoustics in old churches.

This is one of the few songs that show that Avi is/was more than just their bass. Avi has talent as all of them do and some people thought he was just a bass.
