I don't think she meant to sound cold, editing makes a difference. But I also wouldn't hold it against her if she was pretty upset that Avi is leaving. It's going to change everything and I think it totally blindsided them. He's putting them in a tough situation. I love Avi to death but I would probably be a little mad too.

I agree with EliaKay1, this was a long time coming. I could see from his comments from a couple of years back that this lifestyle they have as a group is just not his cup of tea. He wasn't truly happy. I don't think the group was that surprised, if they really were paying close attention to their teammate and friend.

There was definitely bad blood between the two cliques in the group. The melodic trio and the base/percussion (Avi and Kevin). You can see in the video that Mitch is almost indifferent and if anything is really stuck up when Avi is talking. Kristin doesn’t make eye contact with the camera. Kevin is the only one that almost cries. Scott gives him a little reassuring hug. But you can tell there is bad blood and that also contributed to Avi leaving

I've spoken to Kirstie way back in the beginning of PTX's career, and she was so kind and generous and genuine and well spoken. I feel that since then she's cultivated a sort of "valley girl" affect to her speech--a lot of "likes" thrown in there. Don't know if it's nerves over the increased spotlight...just want her to know she was perfect the way she was back then and never needed to change.

We all do change, though. Especially when we leave the nest and get to explore other cultures and different people. I'm not a fan of the valley accent either, but the truth is that change is going to happen. She might still be a good person, just her dialect has changed. That's ok.

Please don’t shower me with hate comments if you already know this but after Avi left, he’s started making music on his own. You should definitely check it out. All of his new songs are absolutely amazing and heartwarming. I understand that it’s sad that Avi left, but he did so to become closer to his family, and to pursue his own musical career. Also, I don’t know if pentatonix is still close to him, but I am a HUGE fan of his music.

Everyone is saying how Kirstie was being "cold" she addressed in a tweet on twitter how people cut certain things she says out and make her completely horrible.

I agree, this interview does seem to have been edited to make Kirstin seem very nonchalant about the whole issue of Avi leaving and finding a new bass, but that being said, I do think that the bond between the two of them isn't as strong as it is between the other group members. For starters, neither one of them follows the other one on Twitter and yet they both follow all the other members (this has been the case for at least 2 years). They never interact publicly with each other on social media but they each do interact with the other group members (a key example is on birthdays and when they've released their solo projects - times when you would expect to see interaction), and they rarely interact with each other in interviews, whereas the rest of the group often answer questions together/finish each other's sentences etc

Everyone is saying how mean she is to avi... im sure they are still friends. They just dont make music together. Avi said, that he didnt leave because of the group and music, it was because of his family. So kirsting shouldnt have any reason to "miss" him. Maybe she could miss making music with him.

I feel that PTX might fade apart; each member is fully capable of being amazing solo, and even Kevin would find his spotlight with or without singing

Have you seen Kevin's latest video? He sings, he plays cello, he plays piano, and he finger-drums with Ableton Push. He could have a career going in any of those directions, although I still ultimately expect him to become an in-demand producer. And they're not falling apart. I expect when they get back together after these solo albums they'll all be full of awesome new ideas.

But they *haven't* conquered the music industry. Other than their first Christmas album from a couple of years back, their sales are pretty low when comparing them to regular Pop star standards. Their views on KZread can only garner so much money. Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Nick Jonas, Kelly Clarkson, Demi Lovato, and P!nk (I'm not even gonna mention the bigger stars such as Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, and Bruno Mars) sale 10x more albums and concert tickets than PTX. I love the group and believe they are one of the most talented vocalists and singers in the industry, but let's not be blind or and try to make them out to be bigger than they actually are.

The sound of Pentatonix is definitely gonna change. Sad about that and will miss seeing Avi in their performances. His voice is so rich. But they are all so super talented as individual artists. I really love listening to their solo productions and superfruit. They just need to sing and sing and sing. Together, solo, duo, doesn't matter. Just sing! Can't wait to watch the special tonight! I am excited about hearing their sound now with their new member. Awesome artists.

ok, I'm sorry, but either Kirstie didn't really answer the question that was asked of her about her being "surprised" by Avi telling them he was leaving the group, or she really hasn't been paying attention to her former teammate's demeanor these last two years. I'm not in the group or a friend of his and even *IIIIIII* (along with plenty of his fans) weren't that surprised. Initially, there was shock, but it lasted a couple of minutes. Anyone who pays attention to Avi's mannerisms and comments, knows how not completely happy he was with all the traveling. I don't think he was miserable, but I think he was getting close to it. The other members of the group love traveling and while they may be close to their families, it just seems as if it wasn't completely Avi's thing. I think he enjoyed what he did, but he didn't want to be doing it as excessively as the other group members. There's nothing wrong with that. Plus, while he likes the music they do as a group, I don't think 'pop' is much of his passion. He is a more classical and folk type guy. I think he lasted as long as he could in this group. It was only a matter of time until he called it quits. And anyone who at least somewhat knew him wasn't that surprised by his decision. I think out of the four group members, Kirstie was the most upset (you could sense it by the announcement video the group released months ago). And she had every right to feel upset and angry and disappointed and heartbroken. This is her livelihood and passion and it is getting jeopardized.

I wonder if she's ever listened to one of her interviews and realized how many times she uses "like?"

Avi is a part of a bond that'll never break but if they don't find a bass ASAP then the group is dead and they don't want fans to think there's any potential of that happening. Guys, look on one hand yes avi left the group. Avi wants to be a leader and be front and center. Also its in my opinion the best and worst decision of his career But he isn't gone. Stop pouting and support him. Encourage him to come back to pentatonix, otherwise it will be that group that never made him feel important. Im a base *cough* not a great one might i add. Pentatonix isnt like one direction or fifth harmony where the members were just thrown together. They have history and are so close. Even if they did decide to break apart they'd still remain close. At least thats my opinion.
