@@milissaleatherwood6837 I so agree. I don't generally listen to country either. As well as a beautiful singer, she is a wonderful songwriter forr herself and for others as well. The (only?) one that became famous across genres was when Whitney Houston sang, "I Will Always Go On" 18 years after Dolly made it number one on the Country Billboard, What is remarkable, is Dolly wrote it on the same night she wrote "Jolene" . That's pure talent. I have read that "Jolene" did get inducted into the Grammy Hall of fame 2014.

Scott shaved Mitch’s hair off in a Superfruit video called ( appropriately) Shaving Mitch’s Head. He didn’t have it for long and while it was growing back wore a variety of hats. They adore Dolly and had nothing but good to say about her. Love this!

I love this, not only because it won a Grammy, but because giving Scott a partial lead actually means Dolly developed something additional. The call and response bit she does while Scott leads is awesome and new to the song.

Bald Mitch was after purple/blue hair Mitch, shortly before porn star mustache Mitch which led into mullet Mitch. If you look for their animated video for Superfruit's Bad 4 Us you will see it there, Scott also shaved off all of Mitch's hair on a vlog on their Superfruit channel.

Love Dolly and PTX! Been waiting for this one, so glad you did it! The way Avi looks at Dolly is so cute! Apparently they arranged it so Dolly sang it all but she insisted they took a lead in part of it. She's such a great lady, I've always admired her 💛

That's my favorite collab that they've done!

This performance won Pentatonix their 3rd Grammy Award (and first one for vocal performance) and Dolly her 9th Grammy (of 11 total).

They won an Emmy for Best Collaboration. They are fantastic and even though it was Dolly's song, she wanted them to take the lead in that song. Apparently, they only rehearsed a little bit and went right on to tape it. Such great performances from PTX and of course, the amazing Dolly.

'Somebody that I used to know'. It's one of their old ones but it's soooo good. Please please react lol. And yesss this one is brilliant. Love me some dolly.

That was amazing! Didn't know PTX made a cover of this song! And Dolly Parton was amazing! As always! Her voice is so uniq and so gorgiuos! And I love the fact that PTX duned a litte bit down to let Dolly shine, because you can't overshine her, even if you try to! Even if you are PTX!

When I saw them in 2017, they performed this with Us the Duo...it was almost as adorable as this.

And they won a Grammy award for this too.

Two of my favorites, Dolly and PTX!! (Three if we add you Travis!!💙). You should check out them trying to sing 100 songs in 10 minutes, it’s amazing and hilarious!! And you’ve probably already guessed I’m suggesting PTXPERIENCE Summer 2018 ep.1 and 2, because 1 is pretty short. Can’t wait for another PTX reaction from you!

Thoroughly enjoy the PTXperiences, all four of them. The increasing maturity of the group from 2014 to 2019 is incredible. Also loved 100 songs in 10 minutes. They seem to have so much fun together.

Scott is my personal favorite and I think what really did that for me, apart from his amazing voice, was seeing how silly, fun, and really caring about people he is!! It just made me fall more in love with him! And all of them honestly. And I totally agree about Matt as well!! That’s why I think Travis in particular would really be into them too!

Love, love Dolly Parton. She is such a sweet soul and never forgot her roots!

I absolutely agree that bringing Scott in with Kirstie was such a smart move musically,Mitch added a really cool extra dimension that elevates the song. It could easily have suffered from being a little too narrow a song otherwise, it opened up the tone and the range & made it the kind of dynamic performance we've come to expect from ptx.

Loved your reaction. Dolly is just a national treasure - both as a singer and as a humanitarian. This collaboration was just pitch perfect. Did I read somewhere that Mitch battled cancer at one point and lost his hair during treatment? Someone may know that. Thanks for adding this one to your list Travis.

That is just a rumor about Mitch. He did not have cancer. There is a vlog where Scott shaves off Mitch's hair.

Most pentaholics know the timing of videos based on mitch's hair. Of course, new reactors question how many members PTX has had because Mitch and Kirstie change their hair.

I've been loving your reactions to PTX so i have a request that I'm praying you react to. It's for non other then PTX's amazing beatboxer Kevin "KO" Olusola. Its just him, in his home studio, making music with his looper and this Man is a Beast. In my view he is the most talented member of the group. I'm not taking away anything from Scott, Mitch, Kirsty, or Matt and Avi, but here's the low down on Kev. At age 5 he started to play a songs from the radio on a toy keyboard his dad bought for him on X-Mass, 3 days after he opened it ...by ear alone. His dad saw his gift and automatically put him in professional lessons for Piano but Kev also wanted more pro lessons as the years went on, and by the age of 10 he was being taught professionally on the Piano, Saxophone and Cello. The Cello was his main instrument but he is classically taught on all 3 instruments and has preformed in Carnegie Hall twice as a soloist, once for Sax and the other Cello and that's before he was 17. He is the first person to invent and master Cello boxing, mixing classical Cello and urban hip hop beatboxing together. He's also a writer and brilliant music producer. He has also gotten his degree in Pre-Med and Asian Studies from Princeton and speaks perfect Mandarin Chinese, all this before the age of 21. When he finally met Scott and the other members of PTX to audition for The Sing Off on NBC they had only been a group for one day. Loved your reaction. I sometimes wish people wouldn't share so much before the reaction so we could get a first time reaction. Mitch had blond hair at the time and found it difficult to take care of. He said that's why he shaved it. He said he didn't like the bald look either so he grew his hair back fairly quickly. As far as the cancer rumor I couldn't find any reliable articles confirming and it is not noted in Wikipedia.

He talked about it. He said he was never sick, it was just a look. It was a magazine interview, not a video. I had a clipping service for years because I had a lot of ad accounts. I added PTX after they won the Sing Off but I don't remember the magazine it was in. Maybe Out?

@@sylviawagers Good plan. He also became a vegetarian I think and dropped weight which also lead to rumors, I am not sure about that though.

I believe Dolly actually wanted them to take the lead in at least one verse and give it that Pentatonix flair.....it was a great collaboration.

Not a big country fan but love Dolly, especially her 2 bluegrass albums (Little Sparrow and The Grass Is Blue) and of course adding PTX adds perfection to confection. But my favourite part of the reaction is your T (appropriately) shirt. It takes me back to one I had in my hippy days in the early 70s with stars and clouds in brown and yellow that I've never quite got over. I wore it with pink flared loon pants and red leather platform boots along with long black hair and a full beard. You know, tasteful and understated. It was the time of Ziggy Stardust after all. Labourers dressed similarly on building sites. Once I was walking through town like that with an ex-air force coat dyed from blue to brown and was stopped by two policemen who said that someone of my description was seen leaving the scene of a jewellery store robbery (in the opposite direction to the one I was coming from). I just looked at them and said "What are you talking about? There IS no-one of my description." You could talk to the police like that in those days, at least in Scotland. I think they were looking for drugs. Of course they searched me and found none and that's all I'm saying. It was all quite pleasant and the old-fashioned "TARDIS" police box got me out of the rain for a bit although I was a little disappointed to find it was the same size inside as out. We had a laugh and I went about my business. Ah, the good old days.

I love this, too. Avi's bass is so classic country - bu-dum-bum-bum-bum after the Trio part. There is one other very country bit they did that I can think of. They sang a tribute to the Oakridge Boys when they were added to the Country Music Hall of Fame. It was a very short version of Elvira. I think there's a clip somewhere on KZread of one of the artists (maybe Dolly?) patting Avi on the chest and laughing when she heard him speak because even his speaking voice is so low and it's like it kind of made her do a double take. It was kind of cute.

If you want a FABULOUS collaboration with PTX, watch "If I Ever Fall in Love" featuring Jason Derulo (who I honestly think out Mitch's Mitch in this one, as far as high notes are concerned). This one's from 2016 (blue-haired Mitch) and the video quality is high-end. I just listened to it and felt compelled to hop in here to recommend it to you. Also, Kirstie looked damn fine. :D I still want you to listen to some of the songs on that album that lack official videos. Particularly "Ref," which has an amazing synth-like set of vocals going on, along with some great lyrics.
