Following triangular and hexagonal handle jigs, I made a pentagonal handle jig.
You can make a handle that is used secretly in a carpentry shop using jjaturi wood.

Was it baking soda and CA glue used to secure the bolt and the nut to the knobs?

Yes. Different language on the bottle, but the same A&H logo I think. Ive see. Baking soda used w super glue to do build-ups. The baking soda gives the glue body and maybe structure, similar to fiberglass matte in resin.

Add another hole 180 degrees from the drill hole and you can make 4 lobe knobs as well.
