You know, this act is great, but I heard it's really expensive since they have to hire a new Teller every time they perform it. That and the life insurance payouts.

KZread does it make you happy to be a killjoy and a fake? Why did you name yourself KZread? You aren’t KZread. You’re nothing. You’re just some jacka$$ who can’t stand people who allow themselves to be able to suspend their disbelief. You mean less than nothing and you know it. I pray someday you’ll be able to find something of substance in your life that brings you joy and wonder. We all know magic isn’t real. You don’t have to do what you’re doing. Where you denied a childhood? If you need someone to talk to about your issues there are many of therapists out there who can help. It’s not your fault that your parents failed at raising a well mannered, polite member of society. Maybe they didn’t care about you at all and you never learned how to be a decent person who is capable of empathy and dealing with social situations. I can only imagine that you never left their basement and have been eating pizza rolls and chugging water from the water heater in the corner of the basement. I will pray you can find a way out of that basement and find someone who can help turn things around for you. There’s so much more to life than trying to bring others into the misery that your god awful parents, who never loved you, forced upon you. But please, have mercy on your parents. They might’ve given up on you because of what a gnarly, awful troll you already were from the start. It’s anybody’s guess. All I can say for sure is it sure sucks to be, and to have heard from you.

6:22 Immediately after shuffling the cards, Penn turns to his left and pockets the card in his left pocket while also misdirecting us by asking Judy for the time. 8:38 You can see Penn reach back into his left pocket for the card before the camera cuts to a shot of Teller. Right after, Penn goes up to the tank and places his left hand on top of the tank to set the card in place. 9:45 Teller turns to his right to grab the card before completely turning around to place the card inside of his goggles.

At 8:43 Penn stuck the card onto the side of the box. At 9:45 when everyone is distracted by Penn and Richard you can see Teller reach for the side of the box to get the card, then as soon as he does this you can see him turn around. As for the breathing part, he could've actually been holding his breath for that long, but most likely he could've been using a secret breathing mechanism. I don't think he was breathing purely in the tiny space in his goggles. The breath-holding illusion could've been done in many ways, in which one of them is that secret pipes are stuck inside Teller's nostrils which run through the goggle frames and through the sides of the goggles, into his shirt or something and a small air tank hides in his shirt. I noticed that Teller constantly keeps his head on his left arm, so if his breathing method was used, then I think the pipes run through his left sleeve, and he breathes in through his nose and breathes out through his mouth, which he does time to time.

You can find an earlier version of this trick on KZread where it did almost go wrong and Teller was in actual danger of drowning so they had stage hands rush to the set to pull him out the moment the card was revealed. Teller apparently got some water inside the mask as he was slipping the card in, so they subsequently revised the trick to make sure it would never happen again.

@Mark Five At 8:43 he passes the card to Teller through misdirection. The goggles are vital, as are Teller's hands being out of the water, as the goggles cover Teller's nose, and have a pipe leading through his sleeve and up to his hands, allowing him to still get air despite the scuba tank being disconnected. Other than that it's just a matter of moving the chosen card to the top or bottom of the deck, and using sleight of hand to get it to Teller in the tank at 8:43. I could be wrong about something, but I feel like I at least figured most of it out.

Trying to solve the puzzle is what magic shows are all about for me.

sigh.... If he were breathing you would see the bubbles. Holding your breath is a skill you can learn, the world record is far longer than Teller would have held his breath here, it's not unlikely at all that he learned this talent that other magicians have also learned before him.

@@ev6558 Lol what ? No, there wouldn't be bubbles since the pipe and goggles are sealed. And no, it's not physically possible to hold your breathe for 7 minutes without going into apnea. Yes you can train yourself to apnea, but you wouldn't be doing a magic trick lol.

Obviously there was a hidden breather inside the mask, that's why his nose was duct into it. you didn't see the bubbles, because air was extracted through the same place it came in, probably some flat shaped pipe in the headband thing.
