Penn State vs Ohio State 1999 GAME STORY

In a game where the Nittany Lions dominated, the final score didn't reflect how lopsided the two teams were. Penn States running game was smooth and effective, but the offense sputtered inside the red zone all day, with two field goals getting blocked by the Buckeye defense. On the other side of things, Ohio State plain and simply couldn't move the ball on Penn State's star-studded defense. The big names (Arrington, Brown, Short, etc.) all ended up having a big day.
Penn State's Top Performers:
Eric McCoo: 21 carries, 213 yards
Lavar Arrington: 8 tackles, 2.5 sacks
Penn State remained undefeated with the home win over the Buckeyes, improving to a 7-0 record, while Ohio State dropped its third game to go along with the four victories at that point in the season. The Buckeyes would finish 1999 with 6-6 record and failed to make a bowl game.

This was a wonderful game to be at - especially in the student section. Really glad I didn't run over LaVar with my bicycle earlier that week - even if I did, it would have been more like running into a wall. BTW - 21:58 Arrington with the BEST college QB take-down EVER. So good it got 2 replays.
How that team didn’t go undefeated and win a national title is absolutely insane ..Joe had great and nationally contending teams from the beginning to of his career to the end. The best college coach to ever live
2:09 Underrated Eric McCoo off to the races. This was probably his best game.

Lavar Arrington was most likely the reason the horse-collar tackle is a penalty now. Seemed to be his main technique. Must be 5 of them in this game.
I was there.
It's such a shame that we didnt have a better offense that year to go with a good defense. Our QB's were average in Kevin thompson and Rashard Casey, the WR corps was meh.
We just got demolished here.
