Penn State at Minnesota 1994 GAME STORY

Penn State began the historic 1994 season with a trip to Minneapolis, and raised eyebrows around the nation from the domination that ensued. The offense chewed up nearly 700 yards of offense en route to scoring and moving the ball at will. The defense also was impressive, allowing just 3 points against them, and forcing turnovers whenever the Gophers got close to any scoring opportunities.
Penn State Top Performers:
Kerry Collins; 19 of 23, 260 yards, 3 TDs
Ki-Jana Carter; 20 carries, 210 yards, 3 rushing TDs
Freddie Scott; 7 receptions, 133 yards, 1 TD
The Nittany Lions moved on to host USC the following week to open up the home schedule with a 1-0 overall and Big Ten record.

That was HILARIOUS.
The guy that kept saying "this is ridiculous" is actually a PSU grad, Paul Alexander. They were having technical difficulties and he thought he wasn't on the air and was saying the amateur level production was ridiculous.
Must have been a Minnesota broadcast team but I found it hilarious when he said, "That's ridiculous!", as Ki-Jana Carter runs 80 yds for a TD. Huge holes for those backs to stroll thru. The OLines were awesome back in those days, they Steamrolled teams. Thanks for all the awesome videos.
Penn state amassed 689 total yards against the Gophers.

"THIS IS RIDICULOUS!" Those guys may have been Minnesota homers but it was ridiculous. The amount of holes that Ki-Jana Carter, Mike Archie, and Jon Witman ran behind that year was beyond belief. This game against the Gophers was a prime example.
2:49 "This is ridiculous!" Carter for 80 ! .. oh and at 5:47 Carter for 62.... like dude that was easy!
Most complete offense PSU ever had.

@@arc-lite I have an autistic obsession with this team, as I'm convinced it was the best college football team ever, and want to be able to do statistical analysis of it, which requires being able to see every play. I'd be interested in acquiring copies if you we can figure out a way to do so. I already have the Illinois and Michigan games and the Oregon game is on KZread in full.

Yeah man I think I know where you are coming from. I had a similar path as this entire channel basically started with me years ago acquiring the entire '94 season on video. I've also wanted to break that team down with deeper statistics but have just never been able to get around to it yet. So I think I share in your passion! Its shocking to see how far Gopher football fell during the Wacker years. Wonderful man, but not the right coach for the Big Ten.

Be that as it may, Minnesota was not that bad in 1994. Meaning, yes, they were 3-8, but there are much worse 3-8 teams. Minnesota managed to SOMEHOW win at Madison (Wisconsin won 7 games) and only had 2 huge losses (35-0 on the road at KSU and this one here).
Seems like the Gopher announcers lost interest after the first few PSU TD’s. Poor losers?
